OCEAN CITY POLICE RELEASE:
OCEAN CITY — On Oct. 31 at 7:44 p.m., Ocean City police responded to a reported incident of a homeowner throwing a kitchen knife at the feet of several young “trick or treaters”.
According to police, it was reported by parents of the children that the Michael J. Mandzuick, 53, of the 400 Block Asbury Ave., appeared to be intoxicated when he went into his kitchen retrieved a knife and threw it into the wooden porch decking of his home.
The knife stuck in the wood a few feet from several children on the porch.
Mandzuick claimed he was only trying to scare the children on Halloween.
While conducting the investigation the Mandzuick provided the officers with false information about his identity.
He was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession, Disorderly Conduct and Hindering Apprehension. He was held on an arrest warrant issued by Judge Richard Russell of $1,000 full cash bail.
The investigation was conducted by Patrolman Robert Reichanek.
