Man Arrested for Alleged Theft of a Motor Vehicle

STONE HARBOR – Patrol Officers responded to the 9000 Block of Second Avenue for a reported theft of a motor vehicle June 13 at 10:45 a.m.
The vehicle, a red Chevrolet pickup truck, was last observed in the driveway of a private residence at approximately 2:30 a.m. and discovered missing at approximately 9:00 a.m. The owner further discovered the vehicle ignition key missing from his key ring and money missing from his wallet.
Police learned that Gregory Troyano, 57, of Glendora, NJ, an acquaintance of the victim, was a suspect. Stone Harbor Municipal Court Judge John Fowler was contacted and found probable cause for the issuance of an arrest warrant for Troyano for theft of means of conveyance, a fourth degree crime.
The Stone Harbor Detective Division learned the New Jersey State Police had a contact with the vehicle, which was abandoned, on the Garden State Parkway prior to it being reported stolen. Stone Harbor Police responded to the vehicle and had It impounded for processing.
On Sunday, June 15 at approximately 11:14 p.m., Gloucester Township Police apprehended Troyano at his residence. Troyano was turned over to Stone Harbor Detectives and transported to the Stone Harbor Police Department where Judge Fowler set bail at $2,500, full cash, no 10 percent. Troyano was processed and remanded to the Cape May County Correctional Facility in leiu of bail.
Gregory Troyano was also charged with theft of moveable property, a disorderly persons offense, for the theft of money from the victim’s wallet.
This case is pending review by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
