COURT HOUSE – A Middle Township man was arrested on Dec. 6 for allegedly burglarizing two residences in Wildwood Crest.
Jamal Woodson, 37, was arrested Dec. 6 and charged with the burglaries.
According to Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor and Wildwood Crest Police Chief Thomas DePaul, an investigation of the burglaries revealed Woodson attempted to pawn several stolen items at a local pawn shop. After his arrest several search warrants were executed. During the subsequent search, firearms, flat screen televisions and various electronics stolen from two residences in Wildwood Crest were recovered.
Woodson’s arrest was the culmination of a multi-jurisdictional investigation that included personnel from the county Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit; Borough of Wildwood Crest; City of Wildwood; Lower Township; and Middle Township.
Woodson was charged with burglary, theft, and certain persons not to possess a firearm. He is being lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility in lieu of $150,000 full cash bail.
The investigation remains on-going and additional charges may be pending, stated Taylor.
