VILLAS – The Lower Township Police Department responded to a total of 757 calls for service during the week of Oct. 27 through Nov. 2, averaging a total of 109 calls per day. Police also made a total number of 6 arrests during this period. The following incidents were also investigated.

Tips for Avoiding Phone Scams
The Lower Township Police Department would like to remind its citizens to be alert to phone scams, especially since these calls increase at this time of year.
Here are a few tips to avoid being a victim of phone scams:
– Never give your credit card number over the phone, unless you initiated the call.
– Never give your checking account number or other personal information, such as driver’s license number, social security number, etc. over the phone.
– Never pay for a prize and that includes shipping/handling or any other cost from a caller that says you have “won” something.
