NORTH CAPE MAY- Lower Township Police received a report of a fight in the area of Bayshore Road and Fire Lane in the North Cape May section of Lower Township on Sunday, Sept. 22 at approximately 5:00 p.m.
The caller reported a large fight in the area involving a subject with a baseball bat and possibly subjects in possession of a shotgun and handgun. Multiple Lower Township police officers responded to the scene. Prior to their arrival it was reported that several subjects fled the area in a silver Mitsubishi Galant.
Police investigation into this fight led to the arrest of three subjects for various assault and weapon offenses. Charged were Jake Gould, 22, of Suzanne Ave., North Cape May, charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and aggravated assault, Kursam Maxius, 22, of Jefferson Street, Cape May, charged with aggravated assault for pointing a shotgun at a subject and aggravated assault for striking a person with a weapon, and Edward Flynn, 24, of Fire Lane, North Cape May, charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful sell of a weapon. These subjects failed to post bail and were incarcerated at the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
This incident is under investigation and the officers assigned to this investigation are Detective Brian McEwing and Patrolmen Jennifer Anzelone.
