Lower Township Police Recover Stolen Jewelry

ERMA- Lower Township Police Department received a report of a burglary and theft March 1 that occurred in the 500 Block of Route 9 in Erma.
The homeowner advised officers that someone had broken into his home by smashing out a basement window. The owner stated that several pieces of gold and silver jewelry were taken, along with a
collection of coins.
On March 10, following an investigation, Lower Township Detectives arrested David Remey, 20, of the 500 Block of Route 9. Lower Township police charged him with burglary and theft.
Lower Township Municipal Court Judge, David Deweese, set bail at $25,000 cash.
Detectives also arrested Justin Gilroy, 20, from the 100 Block of Lena Street in Whitesboro and charged him with receiving stolen property. His bail was set at $20,000 cash.
Both subjects were lodged in the Cape May County Jail in lieu of bail.
Lower Township Detectives recovered the majority of the stolen jewelry from Aviance Jewelry Store in Middle Township and Adele’s Treasures Jewelry Store in Lower Township as well as from an independent person who purchases jewelry and coins.
The investigation was conducted by Patrolman Shaun Whittington and the Lower Township Detective Division.
