VILLAS- Two drug arrests occurred on the evening of Aug. 30 in the span of half an hour.
At approximately 9 p.m. Officer William Barcas observed William S Murray exit a motor vehicle in the area of Yuma and West Wilde Avenue in Villas. Murray was wanted for a burglary and theft that had occurred on Aug. 3 in the 100 block of Maryland Ave, Villas. He also had a warrant for contempt of court out of Middle Township. Officer Barcas placed Murray under arrest and upon searching his person he located a hypodermic syringe, 9 individual bags of heroin and 6 narcotic pills for which he did not have a prescription.
Murray, 25, who resides on Rose Lane in Villas, was charged with burglary, theft, contempt of court, 2 counts of possession of CDS, and possession of a hypodermic syringe. He was transported to the Cape May County Jail in default of $50,000 bail set by the Honorable Judge Thomas Hillegass.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. Officer Matthew Dickinson observed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction in the area of Bayshore Road and Pontaxit Avenue in North Cape May. Upon approaching the vehicle to speak with the driver, Officer Dickinson observed the odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted resulting in the discovery of a bag of marijuana and a packet of rolling papers.
Ralph E Watson, 51, who resides on Dias Creek Road in Green Creek, was arrested and charged with possession of CDS, possession of CDS paraphernalia, and was issued several motor vehicle summons. He was released from the police station on his own recognizance.
