Lower Township Police Investigate Robbery Report

By Press Release

VILLAS – Lower Township Police Department received a report of a male subject reporting he had been robbed of his possessions at a bus stop on Bayshore Road in Villas Feb. 4 at approximately 9 p.m.
Patrol Officer Jennifer Anzelone and Patrolman Jordan Saini immediately responded to the 1500 Block of Bayshore Road and spoke with the 40-year-old male victim. The male victim reported that while standing at the bus stop on the corner of Locust Avenue and Bayshore Road, he was approached by what he described as two young black males riding scooters. These two subjects approached the victim and demanded he surrender his money. The victim was then assaulted and relieved of his wallet and cell phone. After the robbery, the two subjects fled south on Bayshore Road before turning east on Maple Avenue. The victim, after losing sight of the subjects, walked to a nearby pharmacy and reported the incident to a store clerk who phoned the police on his behalf.
Police officers flooded the area in an attempt to locate the suspects but were unsuccessful in doing so.
This investigation is ongoing by the Lower Township Police Patrol and Detective Divisions.
