Lower Police Seize Marijuana During Car Stop

ERMA — Lower Township Police Department while conducting an ongoing drug investi-gation here on Wednesday, June 24, at about 3 p.m. arrested two subjects after a motor ve-hicle stop.
When officers approached the vehicle, they reportedly smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana. Consent to search of the vehicle was obtained. That resulted in the seizure of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Arrested was Donna Gavin, 45, of the 1400 block of East 13th Street, Eddystone, Pa. Gavin was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Also arrested was Brandi A. Johnson, 38, of the 900 block Myrtle Avenue Erma. She was issued a motor vehicle summons for driving while suspended.
That investigation lead officers back to 900 block of Myrtle Avenue where a subsequent consent to search was obtained which resulted in the seizure of multiple bags of marijuana and several pill containers filled with burnt remains of marijuana cigarettes.
A third subject, Anthony Cestone, 38, of the 900 block of Myrtle Avenue, Erma was ar-rested at that scene for possession of marijuana and also charged with intent to distribute the marijuana due to the amount of drugs seized.
The two drug suspects were arrested at the scene and taken to the Lower Township Police Department for processing.
Judge Richard Russell set bail at $15,000 cash for Cestone. He was remanded to county jail in lieu of bail.
Gavin was charged and released on a summons.
Detective First Class Mel Hedum and Detectives Chris Lambert, Edward Dougherty and Art Mason investigated the case.
