Lower Police Respond to Domestic Calls, Attempted Strangling During April 20-26

ERMA — During the week April 20-26, Lower Township police responded to and/or initiated 710 calls for service averaging over 101 calls per day.
April 20:
Report of disorderly conduct received at 12:41 a.m. in the 900 block of Whittier Avenue, North Cape May. Upon officer’s arrival there were two subjects that got into a verbal argument over property; subjects handled the problem themselves, no complaints.
Domestic violence complaint received at 1:12 a.m. in the first block of Village Road, Villas, victim stated subject tried to strangle her, complaints were signed by the responding officer. Subject was arrested and after being processed was taken to county jail on $25,000 bail 10 percent. Domestic Violence Act Rights were given, no request for a temporary restraining order at this time.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 1:20 a.m. in the 400 block of Baywyn Road, North Cape May; upon officer’s arrival there were two neighbors that got into a verbal argument, the subjects went back to their homes, no complaints.
Report of criminal mischief received at 8:43 a.m. in the first block of Strawberry Lane, Cold Spring. Victim reported damage done to her mailbox and mailbox post, investigation continues.
Report of harassment received at 2:44 p.m. in the 700 block of Seashore Road, Erma, subject states he is being harassed by a subject from another site. No complaints at this time.
Report of theft received at 3:57 p.m. in the 9900 block of Seapoint Boulevard, Diamond Beach. Victim said that someone stole items from his unit which is under construction at this time, investigation continues.
Domestic violence complaint received at 4:24 p.m. in the first block of Drumbed Road, Villas. Victim stated her husband made threats towards her and her family; charges were filed against the actor. He was arrested, served with a Temporary Restraining Order issued by Judge Birchmeier. The subject was processed and taken to county jail.
Report of criminal mischief received at 5:01 p.m. in the 300 block of Route 9, Erma. Victim reported damage done to her window. It appeared that someone shot it with a beebee gun, investigation continues.
Report of an assault received at 7:25 p.m. in the area of Mulligan Field, Villas. Two subjects were fighting, upon police arrival the actor left the area, actor was later located and addressed. No complaints.
Report of harassment received at 9:09 p.m. in the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Villas. Reporting party was receiving harassing communication via her computer; actor addressed and told to stop. No complaints.
April 21:
Domestic violence complaint received at 1:10 a.m. in the 100 block of Fire Lane, North Cape May. Report of an assault that took place; charges were filed by the officer for assault and subject was arrested, processed and taken to county jail. Domestic Violence Act Rights were given, no request for a temporary restraining order issued.
Report of criminal mischief received at 9:45 a.m. in the 500 block of Town Bank Road, North Cape May. Victim reports damage done to her window screen, investigation continues.
Report of fraud received at 10:46 a.m. in the 300 block of Delaware Avenue, Villas. Victim said that someone is using his debit card number in Georgia, investigation continues.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 11:34 a.m. in the 600 block of Route 9, Erma. Officer was advised that there were two subjects that got into a mutually entered altercation. Complaints were signed against both subjects.
Report of fraud received at 12:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of Bay Drive, Villas. Victim said that someone opened up credit cards in his name without his knowledge, investigation continues.
Report of harassment received at 3:48 p.m. in the first block of Oak Avenue, Villas, reporting party was receiving harassing phone calls from unknown subject. Officer spoke with the actor, who will stop. No complaints.
Domestic violence complaint received at 5:17 p.m. in the 100 block of West Drumbed Road, Villas. Victim stated she was being verbally harassed; victim signed a special complaint for harassment, Domestic Violence Act Rights were given, no request for a temporary restraining order at this time.
Report of theft received at 7:31 p.m. in the first block of Bay Avenue, Villas. Victim said that someone stole his lawn mower, investigation continues.
April 22:
Report of disorderly conduct received at 01:00 a.m. in the 600 block of Townbank Road, North Cape May. Officers were advised there is a vehicle parked outside with several people in it causing a disturbance. Officer spoke to both parties and actors were moved on. No complaints.
Domestic violence complaint received at 2:41 a.m. in the 100 block of East Hudson Avenue, Villas. Victim stated his ex-spouse keeps riding past his residence. Domestic Violence Act Rights were given, no criminal complaints signed and no request for a temporary restraining order issued.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 5:19 a.m. in the 600 block of East Jacksonville Avenue, Villas. Officers were advised that there was a verbal argument between two subjects and they worked out differences themselves; no complaints signed.
Report of a warrant arrest at 10:44 a.mm in the 400 block of Breakwater Road, Erma. Subject was placed under arrest for a warrant out of Somerset County. Subject was processed and transported to county jail.
Report of theft received at 5:10 p.m. in the 100 block of Walnut Avenue, Villas. Victim stated that someone stole his bike within the last three to four days, investigation continues.
April 23, 2008:
Report of disorderly conduct received at 12:17 a.m. in the area of Bayshore Road and Weber Avenue, Villas. Officers were advised that there was a verbal argument between two subjects. Upon officer’s arrival, subject was gone, no complaints.
Report of trespassing received at 12:42 a.m. in the 500 block of East Tampa Avenue, Villas. Report of two subjects walking around the residence and looking in windows. Upon police arrival they were gone, no complaints.
Report of harassment received at 9:31 a.m. in the 3800 block of Bayshore Road, North Cape May. Two subjects were engaged in a verbal confrontation, both parties were advised of options, no complaints.
Report of trespassing received at 4:36 p.m. in the 200 block of Franklin Avenue, Villas. Report of a subject refusing to leave the property and a verbal argument ensued between the two subjects. Upon police arrival, they spoke with both parties and the matter was settled, no complaints.
Report of a narcotics arrest at 7:04 p.m. in the area of Seashore Road and Cold Spring Village, Erma. Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop subject was charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substance, being 100 bags of heroin. Subject was processed and taken to county jail.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 9:23 p.m. in the 3300 block of Bayshore Road, North Cape May. Officers were advised that there was a couple fighting in the apartment. Upon officers’ arrival, they spoke to both subjects, no complaints.
April 24:
Report of theft received at 1:35 a.m. in the 9900 block of Seapointe Boulevard, Diamond Beach. Reporting party stated several subjects are taking metal studs from the construction site. Responding officer charged five subjects with theft; they were processed and released on a summons with a court date.
Domestic violence complaint received at 11:53 a.m. in the 100 block of Edna Avenue, Villas, Report of a verbal argument between a male and female, Domestic Violence Act Rights were given, no criminal complaints signed and no request for a temporary restraining order.
Report of theft received at 2:07 p.m. in the 100 block of Baywood Drive, Fishing Creek. Victim said that someone stole jewelry and cash from their home. Charges filed for burglary and theft. Two subjects arrested, processed and given a court date. Some items were recovered and returned to the owner.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 8:53 p.m. in the 100 block of Broadway Avenue, Villas. Officers were advised that there was a verbal argument or fight between two subjects, turned out to be a mutual shoving match, no complaints.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 10:40 p.m. in the first block of Franklin Avenue, Villas. Officers were advised that there was a verbal argument between two family members in the street. Upon officers’ arrival, they worked out the problem themselves, no complaints.
April 25:
Report of a female stumbling in the roadway at 2:11 a.mm in the 100 block of Bayshore Road, Villas. Officer stated subject was intoxicated, family member notified and took subject home. No complaints.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 4:52 p.m. in the 100 block of Miami Avenue, Villas. Officers were advised that there was a verbal argument between two subjects. Upon officers’ arrival they worked out the problem themselves, a friend was contacted and picked up the actor and gave her a ride home, no complaints.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 7:46 p.m. in the area of Bayshore Road and Delaware Parkway, Villas. Officers were advised of a lot of juveniles loitering in the area, yelling at each other. Officers located the juveniles at Mulligan Field, Villas, and were advised to keep it down. No complaints.
Domestic violence complaint received at 8:29 p.m. in the 1200 block of Bayshore Road, Villas. Report of an assault between boyfriend and girlfriend, charges filed for assault against the actor. Warrant was issued by Judge Birchmeier with bail set at $2,500 no 10 percent. Domestic Violence Act Rights were given, no request for a temporary restraining order at thetime.
Domestic violence complaint received at 8:27 p.m. in the 2100 block of Bayshore Road, Villas. Report of a verbal argument between a male and female, Domestic Violence Act Rights were given, no criminal complaints signed and no request for a temporary restraining order at this time.
Domestic violence complaint received at 10:18 p.m. in the 200 block of Beechwood Avenue, Villas. Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up with screaming in the background, which turned out to be a verbal argument between a male and female. Domestic Violence Act Rights were given, no criminal complaints signed and no request for a temporary restraining orderr at the time.
Report of theft received at 11:48 p.m. in the 3900 block of Bayshore Road, North Cape May. Victim said that someone stole her friend’s purse within the last 20 minutes, investigation continues.
April 26:
Report of theft received at 12:42 a.m. in the 3900 block of Bayshore Road, North Cape May. Victim said that someone stole her purse, investigation continues.
Report of criminal mischief received at 11:31 a.m. in the 100 block of Woodland Avenue, Villas. Victim reported damage done to his fence, investigation continues.
Report of harassment received at 1:50 p.m. in the 700 block of Route 9, Erma. Subject stated he was being harassed by an employee, officer spoke to both subjects and worked out there differences, no complaints.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 2:13 p.m. in the 100 block of West Drumbed Road, Villas. Officers were advised that there was a verbal argument between two subjects. Upon officers’ arrival, they worked out the problem themselves. A family member was contacted and picked up the actor and gave him a ride home, no complaints.
Report of a warrant arrest at 5:15 p.m. in the area of Bayshore Road and Ferry Road; after a motor vehicle stop the subject was placed under arrest for a warrant out of Lower Township and one out of Middle Township; subject was processed and released on bail.
Report of harassment received at 4:30 p.m. in the first block of Ohio Avenue, Villas. Subject stated she was receiving harassing phone calls, both subjects spoken to and agreed to stop calling each other, no complaints.
Report of a warrant arrest at 4:49 p.m. in the 200 block of Caroline Avenue, Villas. Subject was placed under arrest for a warrant out of Hamilton Township; subject was also charged with false information to a police officer; subject was processed and transported to county jail.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 5:52 p.m. in the 100 block of East New York Avenue, Villas. Officers were advised of several juveniles outside trying to fight; juveniles were spoken to and told to leave, no complaints.
Domestic violence complaint received at 8:35 p.m. in the 300 block of Broadway Avenue, Villas. Report of a fight between a male and female, Domestic Violence Act Rights were given, no criminal complaints signed and no request for a TRO at this time.
