Lower Police Report Numerous Burglaries of Copper Piping

LOWER TOWNSHIP – The Lower Township Police Department is investigating numerous burglaries to homes in the township where person(s) entered the crawl spaces of the homes and removed copper piping.
On Saturday March 20, at approximately 6 p.m. police received a report of three white male suspects removing copper piping from the new CVS construction site on Bayshore Road in the Villas.
The suspects removed over $3,000 worth of equipment including 400 feet of aluminum wire.
The three suspects were seen leaving the area in a black pick–up truck with a blue tarp over the bed.
The thefts were investigated between Thursday and Saturday, March 18th through the 21.
Copper piping was removed from homes on the following streets:
Ocean Avenue
Lotus Avenue
Spruce Avenue
Bates Avenue
East Miami Avenue
Rose Lane
Police are asking anyone with information on these incidents to please contact the Lower Township Police Department’s Safe Neighborhoods Tip Line at 609-886-1619, ext. 156 or the Cape May County Crime Stoppers at 609-465-2800.
All information will remain confidential and may be reported anonymously.
The incidents are under investigation by the Lower Township Patrol Division and Detective Division.
