NORTH CAPE MAY – Lower Township police received a complaint from a female that she had been physically assaulted and choked by her boyfriend, who also threatened to kill her, Sun., June 27 about 8:30 p.m. from a residence in the 600 block of Townbank Road.
Patrol Officers requested the Lower Township Rescue Squad respond to the scene to evaluate the victim.
The male actor had already left the residence and was believed to be enroute to Wildwood. Lower Township Detectives then located the actor with the assistance of the Wildwood Police Department.
Following further investigation, Robbie C. Ackerley, age 29, of the 100 Block of West Rio Grande Avenue, Wildwood, was arrested by the Lower Township Police Department and charged on a warrant with Aggravated Assault and Terroristic Threats.
Lower Township Municipal Court Judge, David DeWeese then set Ackerley’s bail at $15,000
cash. Ackerley was subsequently lodged in the Cape May County Jail in default of bail.
The incident was investigated by Patrolman Ryan Hansberry and the Lower Township
Detective Division.
