ERMA — On Sat., July 31 at approximately 5:07 a.m., the Lower Township Police Communication Center received a 9-1-1 call from a passing motorist on Cloverdale Avenue, reporting a female yelling in the middle of the roadway reportedly throwing a metal chair about the street.
Patrol Officers responded to the area, but initially could not locate the woman. Officers then heard the woman yelling profanities at them from a yard in the 100 Block of Cloverdale Avenue.
When Officers tried to calm the woman down, she became even more belligerent and combative.
The woman, identified as Joanne Coughlin, 42, of Disston Street, Philadelphia, Pa., was then placed under arrest for disorderly conduct, however she physically resisted her arrest at which point she was restrained and placed under arrest.
Coughlin was then transported to Lower Township Police Department where she was charged with the following:
1 Count of Disorderly Conduct
1 Count of Resisting Arrest
1 Count of Obstruction of Justice
Based on statements the woman had made to patrol officers, the Lower Township Rescue Squad was asked to respond to the police department to examine the female. She was then transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.
