Lower Police Arrest Four for Disorderly Conduct

NORTH CAPE MAY – On Aug. 6, 2013, at 1:51 a.m., members of the Lower Township Police Department were dispatched to 15 Beachhurst Drive in the North Cape May section of Lower Township for a large group being disorderly in the street. Upon police arrival, officers attempted to disperse the large group out of the street. The subjects were uncooperative and refused to go back into 15 Beachhurst Drive.
Lower Township officers made four arrests, charging the subjects with various charges; including Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Condoct, Obstruction and Open Container on a public street. The homeowner, Richard Hawthorne, was also issued a local ordinance for disorderly household.
Lower Township police officers have been dispatched to 15 Beachhurst Drive on 24 separate occasions throughout 2013 for an assortment of calls, mainly subjects being disorderly. Several arrests throughout 2013 have been made at that location. The Lower Township Police Department will continue to do extra property checks in that area and strictly enforce all state and local laws.
