Lower Police Arrest Door Kicking, Ex-Boyfriend

VILLAS – Lower Township police received a call from a frantic 19 year old Female in the 100 Block of
Spruce Avenue in Villas August 28 at approximately 8:15 pm, stating that her ex-boyfriend had just kicked
in her front door, trashed her house and assaulted her.
Responding officers found the front door broken and numerous pieces of furniture smashed
inside the residence.
The female victim stated that her ex-boyfriend identified as Michael Hart, 19, of the
100 Block of Maryland Ave., Villas, forcibly choked her and took her cell phone from her before fleeing the residence.
The victim stated and officers confirmed, that there was an active final restraining order barring Hart from having any contact with the victim or coming to her residence.
Patrol officers on scene reported a large amount of blood inside the residence. The victim advised the officers that Hart had cut his hand while punching out a window pane on the door. Lower Township Rescue Squad responded to the scene to check on the female victim.
Patrol Officers then conducted an extensive ground search of the immediate area and located Hart on Morris Avenue where he was arrested without incident.
The Lower Township Rescue Squad then treated Hart for lacerations to his hand after he was transported to the Lower Township Police Department for processing. Hart was then charged with the following offenses and lodged in the county jail on $35,000 total bail: violation of a final restraining order, assault during a domestic violence incident, robbery and criminal mischief.
The incident was investigated by Patrolman William Barcas and Detective Chris Lambert.
The arrest was just part of a busy weekend for the Lower Township Police Department which
included the following incidents: three assaults, five domestic incidents, six motor vehicle accidents, 15 emergency medical calls, six fire alarm calls, 82 motor vehicle stops, 40 property checks, 6 disorderly conduct calls and one DWI arrest.
