Lower Man Arrested for Stealing Mall Christmas Tree

CAPE MAY – He was almost the Grinch who stole Christmas.
Cape May police arrested Kevin T. Kelly-Pallanta, 20, of Lower Township, for the theft of a fully decorated Christmas tree from the Washington Street Mall here Dec.7
Police allege that Kelly-Palanta removed a fully decorated 5-foot tall tree from the 500 block of the outdoor mall.
Patrolman J. Walker observed Kelly-Pallanta in possession of the Christmas tree prior to it being reported stolen. He was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking.
Kelly-Pallanta pled guilty in Cape May Municipal Court on Dec. 9 and was fined $200 and ordered to pay restitution of 150.
