OCEAN CITY – On March 9, at approximately 12:40 p.m., Ptl. Anthony Fearnhead, attempted to make a motor vehicle stop in the 800 block of Bay Avenue here for a traffic violation.
As the officer activated his overhead lights the suspect vehicle attempted to elude the police officer by accelerating and making several turns through neighborhood streets.
The officer then observed the vehicle pull to the side of the road in the 800 block of Parkridge Road.
All occupants of the vehicle, two males and one female, attempted to flee on foot from the officer.
Ptl. Fearnhead was able to apprehend Trey Dietrich a short distance from the vehicle and radioed a description of the other suspects to communications.
A perimeter of the area was established by the responding police units and a foot search was then conducted in the surrounding neighborhood. Located a short time later in the Superfresh grocery store was Kevin Fine the driver of the vehicle.
The search was then continued by the officers with assistance of Somers Point Police Department’s K-9 Unit.
