ERMA –– A K-9 bloodhound helped Lower Township police find a DWI suspect after he left the scene of an early morning roll over accident.
Police responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident on Route 109 by the Garden State Parkway on Feb. 16 at 3:35 a.m.
Officers discovered a black SUV traveling northbound on Route 109 had left the roadway, overturned and come to rest over 800 feet from the road.
According to police, the driver had apparently left the scene of the accident on foot.
The county Sheriffs Office was contacted and a K-9 unit was dispatched because the unknown extent of the driver’s injuries, police said.
The bloodhound tracked the driver, Charles Molino, to the Tranquility section of the township where he was found hiding behind a house.
Molino was arrested and charged with DWI and other motor vehicle violations.
