Investigation Leads to Six Arrests; Five Face Drug Related Charges

WEST CAPE MAY – Patrolman Derrik Murphy arrested Edward Campbell in the 100 block of Sixth Ave. in West Cape May on a West Cape May Municipal Court bench warrant Aug. 3 at approximately 4:25 p.m.
While officers were in the process of effecting the warrant arrest of Campbell they developed information that the house contained a controlled dangerous substance (CDS). Police then applied to the West Cape May Municipal Court for a search warrant to search the premises.
The West Cape May Municipal Court Judge granted the request and issued a search warrant. Police and Cape May County Sheriff’s Department Officers proceeded to search the properties, assisted by the Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit.
Discovered during the search was a quantity of marijuana and paraphernalia suggesting the defendant, identified as Jason Giesey, 29, of West Cape May and State College Pennsylvania, was involved in distribution of a CDS.
Minor possession charges were filed against the other residents, including:
Edward Campbell, 23, also of Lower Township, for unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of fireworks, all disorderly persons offenses.
Samuel R. Margules, 25, of Wilmington, DE, for obstructing the administration of law or other governmental function, a disorderly persons offense.
Jonathan E. Martin, 34, of Pleasant Gap, PA, for unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstructing the administration of law or other governmental function, all disorderly persons offenses.
Jeffrey P. Losasso, 37, also of Lower Township, for unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, all disorderly persons offenses.
Richard M. Rader Jr., 28, also of Lower Township, for unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of fireworks, all disorderly persons offenses, as well as unauthorized possession of a prescription legend drug, a fourth degree offense.
Giesey is being held in the Cape May County Correctional Center on $35,000 bail on charges of possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute/marijuana, distribution of CDS/marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school zone, and possession of CDS/Cocaine.
The investigation was conducted by Sgt. S. Austin, Detectives D. Henderson and J. Walker, Patrolman S. Krissinger, and Patrolman D. Murphy.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
