Indictments Handed up May 3

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 12 indictments May 3. The abbreviation CDS is used for controlled dangerous substance.
Mark Caserta
On April 19, 2015, Mark Caserta, 26, of Wilmington, Del, allegedly went on a crime spree in North Wildwood. Responding to a call for a robbery, police found a delivery person who said he had been assaulted and robbed on 14th Avenue. The investigation led to the arrest of Caserta who was allegedly found with the keys to a stolen vehicle brought into the state. Caserta was subsequently linked to a series of car burglaries in the area.
Caserta was indicted for robbery, first degree, aggravated assault, second degree, four counts of burglary, receiving stolen property and theft, all third-degree.
Steven Pettit
Steven Pettit, 31, of Court House, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, third degree. Pettit was stopped after police observed odd behavior in the parking lot of a Villas convenience store.
Timothy Smith
Timothy Smith was indicted for burglary and theft third degree. Ocean City police maintain that Smith entered a residence on Simpson Avenue on various dates in April and removed property valued in excess of $500.
Thomas P. Liston
On March 20, Thomas Liston, 35, was to report to court to face charges related to his arrest for third-degree theft and fourth-degree shoplifting. He was indicted for third-degree bail jumping when he failed to appear.
Cheryl Keenan
The grand jury had to deal with multiple cases of bail jumping. Cheryl Keenan failed to appear to face charges related to her arrest for third-degree possession of a CDS and separately she failed to appear to face charges of resisting arrest in the fourth degree. She was indicted this week on two counts of bail jumping, one-third, and one-fourth degree.
Eric L. Bradwell
In yet another case of bail jumping, Eric Bradwell, 23, of Philadelphia was indicted when he failed to show April 21 to face charges of uttering a forged instrument, third degree.
Xavier Parker
Xavier Parker, 28, was indicted for third-degree escape after he failed to return to official detention following temporary leave for a specific purpose.
Shawn Horn, Kristi Graf
In the period from December to January, Shawn Horn, 40, of Villas, and Kristi Graf, 32, of Court House, allegedly engaged in issuing nine checks knowing that the bank the checks were drawn on would not honor them. The amount of the checks totaled more than $1,400. The indictment was for theft and issuing bad checks, both third degree.
Jessica Coyle
Jessica Coyle, 22, of Court House, was indicted for third-degree shoplifting after allegedly taking more than $500 worth of merchandise from a large national retail store in Rio Grande. The incident occurred  March 18.
George Velli
George Velli, 23, of Villas, was indicted for third-degree endangerment of the welfare of a child. The victim according to the indictment was 15 years old. The indictment was not specific as to the nature of the harm done.
Kristen Woods, Brendyn Anaya
In two separate indictments, Kristen Woods, 29, of Villas, was indicted for heroin possession, third degree and Brendyn Anaya, 18, of Court House, was indicted for possession with intent to distribute, fourth degree. Anaya allegedly intended to distribute marijuana in an amount less than one ounce.
The individuals are only charged with the offenses and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
