COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 25 indictments April 19. The abbreviation for controlled dangerous substance used below is CDS.
Frank Alfe
Frank Alfe, 37, of Wildwood Crest, was in an Intensive Supervision Program when he was allegedly found in possession of alprazolam. He was indicted on third degree possession of a CDS.
The ISP was established to deal with overcrowding in state prisons.  It significantly reduces a convicted person’s jail time in return for participation in an intensive program of supervision, community service, counseling, and drug testing. Alfe is currently lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center while awaiting trial on this latest charge.
Christopher M. O’Neill
Christopher O’Neill, 25, of Seaville, was indicted twice this week on separate charges in separate years.
O’Neill was indicted for uttering a forged instrument and theft, third degree related to accusations that he presented two checks as legitimate knowing they were forged. The incidents occurred during August 2014. Since the total amount obtained was $700, the offense was over the threshold marking a third-degree crime.
In November 2015, it is also alleged that O’Neill took moveable property valued at over $500 from the same individual whose checks he had cashed in 2014. He was indicted for a second time for theft, third degree.
Frank L. Thompson
Frank “Sandy” Thompson, 68, of West Cape May was indicted for third degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, two counts of second degree endangering the welfare of a child, and enticing a child, second degree.
At the time of his arrest, Thompson was an assistant Boy Scout master for a West Cape May troop. Investigation began concerning allegations of misconduct with a 12-year-old boy in 2015. Enticement and one count of endangerment relate to that investigation. The indictment alleges that Thompson purchased expensive gifts for the boy. The indictment further asserts that Thompson admitted, in interviews with police, that he was attempting to groom the boy for potential participation in sexual acts in the future.
Those interviews led to evidence of another incident in 2001 involving a then 15-year-old. That investigation resulted in the additional charge of criminal sexual contact and the second count of endangerment.
Daniel R. Spencer
Daniel Spencer, 23, of North Wildwood, allegedly committed robbery while placing the victim in fear of serious injury from a deadly weapon. The weapon in question was a knife. The armed robbery allegedly took place in a large chain store in Middle Township Jan. 2. Spencer was indicted for robbery, first degree, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, third degree, and unlawful possession of a weapon, fourth degree.
Antoinette Charlton
Antoinette Charlton, of Wildwood, was indicted for third degree endangering the welfare of a child.  She faces three separate counts in the indictment involving “doing harm” to 7, 6 and 4-year-old children on “diverse dates” in March 2015.
Robin Fields
Robin Fields, of Upper Township, allegedly used the credit card belonging to someone else “knowing that she did not have the authorization” to do so. She was indicted for unlawful use of a credit card and theft, both third degree. The offense occurred during a period from November to December 2014.
David Flick Jr., James Gartner, Shannon Ginyard, Florina Grieco, Michael Helverson, Allen Regan, Jennifer Scott
Middle Township police continue their crackdown on drug possession and distribution resulting in an increase in the number of indictments. The following individuals were separately indicted for possession of a CDS, third degree, in Middle Township:
David Flick, 23, of Cape May; James Gartner, 21, of Erma; Shannon Ginyard, 28, of Rio Grande; Florina Grieco, 26, of Rio Grande; Michael Helverson, 40, of Court House; Allen Regan, 34, of Swainton; and Jennifer Scott, 36, of Villas. Regan had the additional count of possession with intent to distribute, third degree.
Demetrio Anderson, Ryan Conyers, Christopher Kote, Marcia Schoff
Charges in Wildwood led to separate indictments for possession of a CDS, third degree, for four individuals.
Demetrio Anderson, 24, of Wildwood; Ryan Conyers, 30, of Court House; Christopher Kote, 25, of Ocean View; and Marcia Schoff, 58, of Cape May.
The individuals are only charged with the offenses and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
