COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 18 indictments Sept. 12.
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance. The crime of certain person below stands for a certain person not to have a weapon. Individuals convicted of a felony are not allowed to carry a weapon at any time. When such an individual is found in possession of a weapon, a certain person charge is usually added to the indictment.
Edward Williams
Edward Williams, 39, of Lower Township, was indicted for second-degree sexual assault. The fact that the victim was a child under the age of 13 added a count of endangering the welfare of a child, also second degree.
Richard Breitenstein
Richard Breitenstein, 51, of East Brandywine, was indicted for first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and second-degree endangerment of the welfare of a child.
Martin A. Paladino
A driving-while-intoxicated arrest led to five counts of child endangerment against Martin Paladino, 45, of Philadelphia. The five children in the vehicle ranged in age from 6 to 13.
Christian Matthews
An 18-year-old Whitesboro man, Christian Matthews, allegedly resisted arrest assaulting the Middle Township officer in the process. He was indicted for fourth degree aggravated assault, third degree resisting arrest and fourth degree throwing bodily fluids.
Moises Maldonado
In 1996, Moises Maldonado, now 51, of Rio Grande, was convicted of an offense that led to community supervision after his parole. Maldonado was indicted this week on fourth-degree violation of supervision for failing “to live at an approved residence.”
Danielle F. Leroy
Danielle Leroy, 31, of Upper Township, was indicted for making terroristic threats, a third-degree count. Leroy allegedly made threats of “aggravated arson.”
Francis Osinski
Francis Osinski, 18, of Washington, D.C., was indicted for possession of a CDS, oxycodone, in the third degree.
Anita Aronow
In Ocean City on Aug. 17, Anita Aronow allegedly drove under the influence causing bodily injury to another driver. She was indicted for fourth-degree aggravated assault.
Jason Adams
Jason Adams, 18, of Court House, was allegedly in possession of an unregistered shotgun. He was indicted for third-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
Jennifer N. Korn
Jennifer Korn, of Wildwood, was indicted on two counts of possession of a CDS, third degree. The drugs in question were oxycodone and amphetamine.
Alexis Ruiz
A 21-year-old from Rio Grande, Alexis Ruiz, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, and possession with intent to distribute. Each count was in the third degree.
Julio Rojas
Julio Rojas, 56, of Wildwood, was indicted for third-degree violation of community supervision. Rojas, convicted in Cape May County in 1999 of a crime that mandated supervision for life, was convicted in Camden County of unlawful possession of a weapon, thereby failing to comply with the terms of his supervision.
William Sweeney
William Sweeney allegedly tried to flee police on May 31 in Ocean City. He was allegedly found to be driving a motor vehicle under second license suspension. His alleged actions added counts for obstruction the administration of law and resisting arrest. All counts were fourth degree.
Michael Dolen
Michael Dolen, of Wildwood, was indicted for possession of heroin, third degree.
Herbert Sample
Herbert Sample, of Wildwood, was indicted on a fourth-degree certain person charge. Sample was allegedly found to be in possession of a stiletto knife even though an earlier conviction for aggravated assault prohibited his carrying a weapon of any kind.
Joseph C. Redrow
Joseph Redrow, 57, of Wildwood was indicted for operating a motor vehicle during a second license suspension, fourth degree.
Bryan R. Grimley
Bryan Grimley allegedly failed to bring his vehicle to a stop when signaled by police to do so Jan. 7 in Upper Township. His alleged attempt at eluding police led to a second-degree indictment.
Nikki DeBona
Nikki DeBona, 31, of Villas, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, third degree. DeBona was indicted on the same charge in August.
The above individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
