Indictments Filed Sept. 13

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 17 indictments Sept. 13. The abbreviation for controlled dangerous substance used below is CDS. 
 Ashley Gentek, Derek Bryant
An afternoon motor vehicle accident in Wildwood Crest led to the arrest of Ashley Gentek, 28, of Bridgeton on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Gentek allegedly hit five parked cars with her vehicle. Police reports stated she had custody of her 4-year-old child at the time of the accident. This week she was indicted for endangering the welfare of a child, second degree, along with a fourth-degree aggravated assault count.
While police investigated the incident, Derek Bryant, 26, of Villas, a relative of Gentek, allegedly became disorderly. Attempts to arrest him resulted in injury to one officer. Bryant also allegedly bite a second officer. He was indicted for both third and fourth-degree aggravated assault, third-degree resisting arrest, and third-degree throwing bodily fluids.
Adonis Dominguez, Seamus McCloskey, Ernest Dominguez
On July 19 in Wildwood, Adonis Dominguez, 19, of Wildwood, and Seamus McCloskey, of North Wildwood, were arrested for possession of marijuana. The two were indicted this week for third-degree possession of a CDS and possession with intent to distribute, third degree.
During the investigation, Ernest Dominguez, 30, of Wildwood, allegedly interfered and has been indicted for fourth-degree obstruction of the administration of law.
Hector Rosa, Jose Olmeda
Jose Olmeda and Hector Rosa, 38, of Philadelphia were indicted on two counts of third-degree aggravated assault following an alleged altercation with two males in Wildwood on July 10.
Wesley Donahue
On July 8, Wildwood Crest Police were called to a domestic dispute by a woman who claimed her boyfriend had pointed a gun at her during an argument.  The investigation resulted in the arrest of Wesley Donahue, 54, of Wildwood Crest. Donahue allegedly pointed a loaded .22-caliber rifle at the woman. He was indicted for possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, second-degree, and fourth-degree aggravated assault.
Gabriel Acevedo-Curbelo
Gabriel Acevedo-Curbelo, 28, of Middle Township, was indicted for three counts of possession of a CDS and possession of a legend drug without a prescription in an amount that exceeds five dosage units.
Mark Adams
Mark Adams, 58, of Court House, was indicted for operating a motor vehicle under the second suspension, a fourth-degree offense. Adams had earlier been arrested for driving while intoxicated and had his license suspended.
Derek Egenlauf
Derek Egenlauf, 22, of Plymouth, Pa., was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS. The incident included an arrest for driving while intoxicated.  The drug involved was AB-Chminaca, a synthetic cannabinoid. It is not a drug commonly mentioned in county indictments.
The drug was placed on Schedule I of the Schedules of Controlled Substances in 2015 by the U.S. Department of Justice. Schedule I drugs involve the most serious offenses.
These synthetic formulas, according to the DOJ, “mimic the biological effects of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.” DOJ’s decision to move this drug to Schedule I was based on a danger to public health due to numerous reported deaths associated with the drug’s use. 
Manuel Fernandez
Manuel Fernandez, 43, of North Wildwood was convicted of second-degree robbery in Pennsylvania in 1998. This offense placed restrictions on his ability to possess a weapon. This week he was indicted for the certain person not to have weapons charge, a fourth-degree offense.
Eric Panny
Eric Panny, 33, of Court House, was indicted for third-degree shoplifting after allegedly taking over $500 worth of merchandise from a Middle Township department store.
Michael Paciotti
Michael Paciotti, 36, of Norristown, Pa., was indicted for possession of a prohibited weapon, a switchblade knife. The incident occurred in Wildwood, July 30.
John Salto
John Salto, 21, of Haverstraw, N.Y., was also indicted for possession of a prohibited weapon, a butterfly knife. This incident also occurred in Wildwood in July.
Andrew Steinhauer   
Andrew Steinhauer, 38, of Egg Harbor Township, allegedly stole a 2015 Tex Dump Trailer valued at more than $8,000 according to State Police reports. He then allegedly spray painted the trailer to conceal its identity. Steinhauer was indicted for third-degree theft and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Matthew Hauser
Matthew Hauser, of Egg Harbor Township, was indicted on five counts of unlawful theft of a credit card, three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, along with third-degree theft and two counts of burglary.
The indictment alleges that Hauser unlawfully entered two automobiles taking two credit cards from one and three from the other. He then allegedly proceeded to use one of the cards at three different locations: a food market, a fast food restaurant, and a drug store. The accumulated purchases exceeded the $500 threshold for a third-degree offense.
The above individuals are only charged with the offenses and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
