COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 20 indictments Oct. 16. The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance. “Certain person not to have a weapon” is a charge that can be brought against individuals whose previous conviction(s) make it a crime for them to possess weapons.
The following actions are alleged by law enforcement agents. Persons named are innocent until proven otherwise in court.
Moises Velez, Sandra Hernandez-Montalvo
Moises Velez, 20, and Sandra Hernandez-Montalvo, 46, both of Philadelphia, were indicted on charges of child endangerment. Velez faces second-degree counts for unlawful possession of a weapon, a handgun, and endangering the welfare of a 6-year-old child, along with a fourth-degree count for possession of a prohibited weapon, hollow-point bullets. Montalvo was indicted on one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Dustin A. Washington
Dustin Washington, 32, of Charlotte, N.C., faces a first-degree count for robbery and a third-degree count for making terroristic threats. The indictment states that Washington threatened the use of a deadly weapon during the commission of a robbery.
Helena J. White
Helena White, of Philadelphia, faces seven counts of third-degree fraudulent use of a credit card, two counts of fourth-degree unlawful theft of a credit card and one count of third-degree theft. The indictment lists seven establishments including a motel, a bar, an amusement pier, a candy store and a pharmacy where White used a card taken from its owner on two occasions in August.
Peter C. Wilson
Peter Wilson, of Lower Township, was indicted on two counts of third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin, and methamphetamine, along with two counts of third-degree possession with intent to distribute.
David Zamulinski
David Zamulinski faces one count of third-degree receiving stolen property, a Yamaha moped.
Brandon Ivens
Brandon Ivens, 30, of Wildwood, was indicted for second-degree robbery and was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center. Police reports state that Ivens entered a bank on New Jersey Avenue, and handed the teller a note demanding money. Police reports state that Ivens did not receive any currency from the teller and subsequently left the bank.
The indictment states that Ivens made the teller fear for her life leading to a charge in the second degree.
Joseph M. Hanners
Joseph Hanners faces three separate counts for third-degree possession of a CDS. He was arrested in Avalon in May. The drugs in question were cocaine, buprenorphine, and lorazepam.
John E. McHugh
John McHugh, of North Cape May, was indicted for third-degree theft.
Jacob A. McCandless
Jacob McCandless, 29, of Erma, faces a six-count indictment including second-degree counts for unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, two third-degree counts for criminal restraint and criminal coercion, and two fourth-degree counts for aggravated assault and attempted criminal sexual assault.
Charles J. Lunn
Charles Lunn, of Wildwood, was convicted of burglary in Florida in 2009. He was arrested in Wildwood in September in possession of a pellet gun. He faces an indictment for fourth-degree certain person.
John C. Amoroso
John Amoroso was indicted for unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a CDS, both counts third degree. Amoroso was arrested in Wildwood Crest in August. The weapon was a handgun. The controlled substance was LSD.
Daniel R. Durrant
Daniel Durrant, 59, was indicted on two counts of second-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, along with third-degree and a fourth-degree count for aggravated assault.
James W. Donnelly, Christopher F. Fox, Harry Angstadt
James W. Donnelly, 24, of North Cape May, Christopher F. Fox, 22, of Rio Grande, and Harry Angstadt, 27, of Rio Grande each face second-degree counts for aggravated assault and conspiracy related to the stabbing of a male victim in a Rio Grande mobile home park.
Victor Novoa-Fonseca
Victor Novoa-Fonseca, 33, of Wildwood, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin.
Ryan Rourke
Ryan Rourke was indicted for defrauding the administration of a drug test, a third-degree count, as well as possession of a device to defraud a drug test, fourth degree.
William J. Sala, Jr.
William Sala Jr., 50, of Philadelphia, faces a fourth-degree indictment for criminal trespass stemming from an incident in North Wildwood in August.
Joseph J. Schuster
Joseph Schuster, 29, of Rio Grande, was indicted for making terroristic threats, third degree.
Jessica A. Garrison, Michael J. Harron 4th
Jessica Garrison, 30, of North Cape May, and Michael Harron, 32, of Green Creek, were indicted for burglary, theft and conspiracy, each count in the third degree.
Gladys E. Sepulveda
Gladys Sepulveda, 36, of Burleigh, was indicted for endangering the welfare of a child, second degree. Sepulveda was involved in a driving while intoxicated incident with a 10-year-old child in the vehicle.
Sean Tatem
Sean Tatem, 29, of Bridgeton, was indicted on the first-degree charge of drug-induced death. Tatem is accused of distributing heroin to an individual who later died from the drug.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
