COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 15 indictments Oct. 17. The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
Justin Farrow, Malik Francis, Dequan McNeil
Justin Farrow, 21, Malik Francis, 23, and Dequan McNeil were arrested in Woodbine for an alleged armed kidnapping, robbery and aggravated assault in November 2016. The three face a 16-count indictment in which 13 of the counts are either first or second degree.
The indictment alleges that the three men confined a female victim for a “substantial period.” They are accused of robbing her and inflicting injury on her while leaving her in fear of her life.
The men were said to be armed with a handgun. Two children with the victim, ages 2 and 6, were also confined.
The indictment facing the three includes three counts of second-degree kidnapping, three counts of first-degree robbery, a single count of second-degree robbery, three counts of second-degree aggravated assault, three counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, a count of second-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, a second-degree count of possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and a second-degree count of unlawful possession of a weapon.
Edward Winning, Paul Calfina
Edward Winning, 52, and Paul Calfina, 45, both of Villas, were indicted a second time for a burglary and theft from a home on Tennessee Avenue in July. The indictment alleges that Calfina burglarized the home and passed the stolen property to Winning who sold it at a local pawn shop. A police release stated that the stolen property consisted of jewelry valued at $3,000.
Calfina was indicted for burglary and theft, both third-degree, while Winning faces counts for fencing and receiving stolen property, also both third degree. The two share a count of third-degree conspiracy.
An indictment filed Sept. 19 charged the two with the same crime. There was no information on why they were indicted a second time for the Tennessee Avenue offense.
Ryan Coffee
Ryan Coffee, 35, of North Cape May, was indicted for fourth-degree criminal mischief and possession of a legend drug.
Gina Famiano
Gina Famiano, 35, of North Wildwood, was allegedly in possession of heroin in Wildwood in July. She faces a count of third-degree possession of a CDS.
Jerome Long, Tyreik Spencer, Christian Wilson, Alyssa Bishop, Ashley Richardson
Jerome Long, 21, Tyreik Spencer, 27, Christian Wilson, Alyssa Bishop, 22, and Ashley Richardson, 19, all of Wildwood, were allegedly involved in resisting arrest in Wildwood in August.
They share in one count of fourth-degree riot, two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, four counts of resisting arrest, third degree, and one count of fourth-degree obstructing the administration of law.
George Williams, Kevin Clancy
George Williams, 49, and Kevin Clancy, 47, both of Rio Grande were indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin. Williams has also been charged with possession with intent to distribute, third degree, and intent to distribute within 500 feet of public property, a second-degree offense.
David Urquhart
Based on a 1992 conviction for criminal sexual contact, David Urquhart, 43, of North Wildwood, is required to register any change of address with local law enforcement. He was arrested in April in North Wildwood for failure to do so. This week he was indicted for failure to reregister, a third-degree offense.
Since October 2016, Urquhart has twice before been indicted for the same offense.
Robert French
Robert French, 28, of North Wildwood, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, third degree.
Robert Gansert
Robert Gansert was indicted for second-degree aggravated assault of a female victim in Upper Township July 6.
Arthur Hoffman
Arthur Hoffman was arrested in Avalon in August for operating a motor vehicle during a second license suspension. He was indicted for this fourth-degree offense.
Daniel Rossi
In another Avalon incident, Daniel Rossi allegedly knowingly received property he knew to be stolen valued at greater than $200. He was indicted for fourth-degree receiving stolen property.
Jeremy Grant
Jeremy Grant, 38, of Eldora, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, as well as possession with intent to distribute, each count third degree.
Nicholas Marino
Nicholas Marino allegedly possessed a stolen credit card which he intended to “either use or sell” in Cape May in July. He was indicted for unlawful theft or receipt of stolen property.
Fay Jordan
Fay Jordan, of Wildwood, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, stemming from an incident in Wildwood in August.
All individuals indicted are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
