COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 12 indictments May 28.
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
The individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Joshua P. Gamble
Joshua Gamble is facing charges that he engaged in selling home improvements while not registered with the Department of Consumer Affairs, unlawfully obtaining by deception property valued at greater than $500. He was indicted for theft by deception, third degree, as well as failure to observe the Contractor’s Registration Act requirements, fourth degree.
David Lambert, Bryan E. Leonard, Gregory Calfina, William H. Lowe and Osmond R. Garrison
A motor vehicle stop in Lower Township resulted in five men being indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS. The five were David Lambert, 39, of North Cape May, Bryan Leonard, 34, of Erma, Gregory Calfina, 38, of Villas, William Lowe, 34, of Erma, and Osmond Garrison, 31, of Villas.
Thomas A. Marchetti
Thomas Marchetti faces a third-degree count of theft by deception related to a November 2018 incident in Wildwood.
Jessica A. Martin
Jessica Martin, of Wildwood, was indicted on two counts of throwing bodily fluids at Wildwood Crest police officers. Both counts are in the fourth degree.
Darryll J. Meter
Darryll Meter was indicted for third-degree theft by deception related to an incident in North Wildwood in January.
Joseph T. Schroeder
Joseph T. Schroeder, 28, of Bristol, Pa., was indicted for first-degree attempted murder relating to the stabbing of a male victim in North Cape May Nov. 29, 2018. Related counts included second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree aggravated assault, third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
Jacquelyn L. Songalewski
Jacquelyn L. Songalewski, 27, of Villas, was indicted on one count of possession of a CDS, methamphetamine.
Michael J. Vandepol
Michael Vandepol, 50, faces one count of third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin.
Richard Montgomery
Richard Montgomery, 66, of Lower Township, was indicted on two fourth-degree counts for theft by deception and misuse of benefits. A statement from the Cape May County Prosecutor states that Montgomery illegally used the EBT (electronic benefit transfer) card of a former roommate who died in July 2018.
Zachary T. Piccioni
Zachary Piccioni, 21, of Villas, was indicted for aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and resisting arrest, each count in the third degree. The indictment also contains two fourth-degree counts for unlawful possession of a weapon and resisting arrest. According to the indictment, Piccioni assaulted a Lower Township police officer with a knife March 31.
Kathleen A. Ricker-Freeling
The indictment states that Kathleen Ricker-Freeling, 48, of Lower Township, received over $75,000 in welfare benefits over a multiple-year period by “creating the false impression that her reportable income level was such that she qualified for welfare benefits.” She faces a second-degree count of theft by deception. Conviction of a second-degree offense can bring a term of imprisonment of five to 10 years.
Ryan J. Rourke
Ryan J. Rourke, of Court House, faces two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault on a 15-year-old victim. The indictment also contains a second-degree count of endangering the welfare of a child. The indictment claims that Rourke had knowledge that the victim was “physically helpless or mentally incapacitated” at the time of the assault. It also states that Rourke was related to the victim.
