COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 12 indictments May 22. The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
The following actions are alleged by law enforcement agents. Persons named are innocent until proven otherwise in court.
Carly M. Chifulio
Carly Chifulio, 30, of Rio Grande, was indicted for fourth-degree aggravated assault on a Middle Township police officer in March.
Michelle A. Huff
Michelle Huff, of Ocean City, was indicted for third-degree theft by deception.
Steven E. Heller
Steven Heller, 19, of Philadelphia, was indicted for possession of a CDS, marijuana, in the fourth degree. He also faces more serious counts for possession with intent to distribute, third degree, as well as intent to distribute within 500 feet of public property, the Wildwood Boardwalk. That last count is in the second degree, which can carry a five to 10-year prison term if convicted.
Marquel I. Matthews
Marquel Matthews, of Wildwood, was indicted for third-degree resisting arrest and fourth-degree aggravated assault on a police officer in Wildwood in April.
Patrick S. O’Brien
Patrick O’Brien was indicted for shoplifting more than $200 worth of merchandise from a supermarket in Marmora.
Robert J. Forte
Robert Forte was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, in the third degree. The indictment stems from an arrest in Sea Isle City in April.
Gabrielle A. Dougan, Joshua J. Harkin
Gabrielle Dougan, 26, of Burleigh, and Joshua Harkin were together indicted for possession of a CDS, third-degree stemming from an arrest in Dennis Township in September 2017. The drug in question was furanyl fentanyl which is an opioid analgesic and an analog of fentanyl.
Nayheen N. Perez-Heredia
Nayheen Perez-Heredia, of Wildwood, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin.
William D. Wilson, Benito Rosario
William Wilson, 56, of Rio Grande, and Benito Rosario, 43, of Burleigh, were indicted on separate counts within the same indictment.
Wilson faces counts for third-degree possession of a CDS, cocaine, along with third-degree resisting arrest, and two fourth-degree counts for obstructing the administration of law.
Rosario was named on two separate counts, both in the fourth degree, for hindering apprehension and resisting arrest.
Jorge A. Valentin-Gonzalez
Jorge Valentin-Gonzalez, 21, was arrested for possession of heroin in Wildwood Crest in April. He was indicted on one count of third-degree possession of a CDS.
Jonathan Santiago-Romero
Jonathan Santiago-Romero, 31, of Wildwood, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, and possession with intent to distribute, each count was third degree.
John K. Paulsen
John Paulsen, 33, of Burleigh, faces a five-count indictment with one count of second-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, one count of possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, third degree, and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon, fourth degree.
