Indictments Filed May 2

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 12 indictments May 2. The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
Vaslan Chiddick, Jonathan Maldonado, Timothy Gonzalez, Diamond Commuck
Four men from Bronx, N.Y., were indicted on forgery charges. Vaslan Chiddick, 24, Jonathan Maldonado, 30, Timothy Gonzalez, 23, and Diamond Commuck, 22, were indicted for possession of a forging device used to print fraudulent checks, a third-degree offense.
On Jan. 25, Ocean City Police were called to a bank on Ninth Street when employees reported a man trying to cash a forged check.
By the time police arrived the man had left the bank. Witnesses reported a car driving from the bank property. One suspect was arrested on foot near the bank, and the car was stopped and searched just blocks away.
Additional charges against Chiddick included a count for forgery and exhibiting a simulated document, a forged driver’s license. Commuck also faces a count for uttering a forged instrument.
Alycha Rodriguez, William S. Murray
On Nov. 15, Middle Township Police in the area of a motel on Route 9 in Rio Grande, witnessed a female with a steak knife chasing two men from a motel room. One man fled the scene, but there was an altercation between the woman and the other man.
The investigation revealed that that the men had allegedly attempted a robbery in the motel room. The female, Alycha Rodriguez, 22, of Brooklyn, N.Y., who was temporally staying at the motel, and William Murray, 28, of Villas, were charged and indicted.
Rodriguez was indicted for aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, each third count degree, as well as with unlawful possession of a weapon, fourth degree.
Murray was indicted for second-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Both individuals were lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center
Christopher J. Meyers, Michael Gavin Jr., Samuel Fazen, Harriet Burgess
Christopher Meyers, of Wildwood, Michael Gavin, 28, of North Wildwood, Samuel Fazen, 41, of Villas, and Harriet Burgess were each indicted for possession of a CDS, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent within 1,000 feet of a school and possession with intent within 500 feet of public property. The four were also charged with conspiracy.
The incident took place near Wildwood Catholic High School and Bill Henfey Park in North Wildwood.
Jaime DeBona, James Doonan, Caroline Pritchard
Jaime DeBona, 42, of Wildwood, James Doonan, 57, of Wildwood and Caroline Pritchard, 28, of Corbin City were each separately indicted for possession of a CDS, third degree. Pritchard’s arrest also involved a charge of driving while intoxicated.
Robert Howey
Robert Howey, 43, of Green Creek, was indicted for possessing a knife while being a certain person not to have a weapon. Howey was convicted twice in 2008 of possession of a CDS.  Those convictions made it a crime for him to carry a weapon.
Christopher Lamonica
Christopher Lamonica was indicted for third-degree burglary for an incident that occurred on Feb. 5 in Lower Township. Lamonica was indicted for burglary just last week on April 25.
Andrew Loiseau
Andrew Loiseau, 27, of Wildwood, was stopped April 5 in Wildwood and charged with Driving while intoxicated.  That incident led to a two-count indictment this week. Loiseau was indicted for possession of a CDS, third degree and second-degree endangering the welfare of a 2-year-old child in the automobile, a second-degree offense.
Donald Tozer
Donald Tozer, 40, of North Cape May, was indicted for third-degree shoplifting for an incident in March when he allegedly stole merchandise from a supermarket valued at more than $500. Tozer was indicted in January on heroin possession charges.
Eric Volpe
In May 1995 Eric Volpe, 36, of Wildwood, was convicted on a juvenile docket of aggravated sexual assault.  That conviction carried with it the requirement that Volpe register with local law enforcement as a convicted sex offender. Volpe was indicted for failure to re-register a change of address.  It is a third-degree offense.
The above individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
