Indictments Filed May 1

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 20 indictments May 1. 
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance. 
A certain person charge can be brought against anyone carrying a weapon but whose previous criminal convictions prohibit possession of a weapon.  
The following actions are alleged by law enforcement agents. Persons named are innocent until proven otherwise in court.
Paul G. Beerley
Paul Beerley, 25, of Court House, was indicted for attempting to elude police, second-degree, along with another second-degree count for endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say Beerley assaulted an officer leading to a count of third-degree aggravated assault. The indictment contained two other counts for fourth-degree possession of marijuana and third-degree possession with intent to distribute.
Massimo Barrella, Robert M. Achuff
Massimo Barrella and Robert Achuff were indicted for burglary of an Ocean City hotel in 2017. The two also face counts of theft and conspiracy.  All counts were in the third degree.
Charles J. Caruso
Charles Caruso was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, along with possession with intent to distribute, both offenses in the third degree. Caruso’s proximity to Venice Park in West Wildwood added a second-degree count for intent to distribute within 500 feet of public property.
Shawn J. Colpo
Shawn Colpo faces an indictment for two fourth-degree crimes, criminal mischief and criminal trespass stemming from an incident in Ocean City.
Christian Groome
Christian Groome was indicted for third-degree theft and uttering a false instrument. The indictment claims that Groome presented a check on an account of a local church as lawfully payable to him.  The check was for $535.38.
Marilyn E. Hamann-McCormick
Marilyn Hamann-McCormick, of Dennis Township, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, methamphetamine.
Luke S. Holzknecht
North Cape May resident, Luke Holzknecht, 25, was indicted on one count of burglary in the third degree.
Richard W. Johnson
Convicted in 2009 for aggravated assault, Richard Johnson, 37, of Villas was barred from possessing a weapon. He was indicted on three counts of a certain person after being arrested in Lower Township in March for possessing three knives.
Kim Keller
Kin Keller was indicted for second-degree robbery. The indictment maintains that Keller used force in the robbery of a female victim.
Ian P. Long-Bertucci, Eli S. Miller
Ian Long-Bertucci and Eli Miller were indicted on a count of third-degree possession of a CDS, methamphetamine.
Jack R. Nixon
Jack Nixon, of Ocean City, was indicted on two counts of third-degree theft by deception. The indictment states that Nixon obtained property valued at more than $500 by deception from two different victims on the same day in March.
Michael Noble
Michael Noble, 33, of North Cape May, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, alprazolam, as well as fourth-degree hindering apprehension.
Amber D. Patton
Amber Patton, of Woodbine, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin.
Jessica D. Winston
Jessica Winston, of Woodbine, faces a seven-count indictment including three counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child involving children ages 3, 2 and almost 1-year-old. Other third-degree counts include aggravated assault on a female victim, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, a knife, and hindering apprehension by giving false information. The last count was in the fourth degree for unlawful possession of a weapon.
Daniel Perez
Daniel Perez, of Ocean City, was indicted for fourth-degree possession of a CDS and third-degree possession with intent to distribute. The CDS was hashish, a cannabis extract.
Christian Reyes
Christian Reyes, of Wildwood, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin, third-degree throwing of bodily fluids at a police officer and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, a knife.
Jose A. Velasquez
Jose Velasquez was indicted for resisting arrest in Wildwood April 4.  The count was in the third degree.
Shane P. Tincher
Shane Tincher, of Villas, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin, as well as third-degree hindering apprehension.
Alonzo Rodrigo
Alonzo Rodrigo, 35, of Pleasantville, was indicted for knowingly exhibiting a false government ID. This count was in the third degree.
Travis J. Werner
Travis Werner faces a seven-count indictment with two counts of second degree aggravated assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child in the third degree and a third-degree charge for possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. 
The indictment also contained two fourth-degree counts of unlawful possession of a weapon and theft of property valued at over $200. The crimes related to this indictment occurred in Cape May in April.
