Indictments Filed March 3

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 12 indictments March 3. 
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.   
New Jersey makes it a crime for individuals previously convicted of specific crimes to possess a weapon. Violations are known as “certain person” crimes. 
All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Sandalio A. Morales, of Woodbine, was indicted on first-degree counts for aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He also faces two second-degree counts for sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The victim was over 13 and under 16 years old.
Zachary V. Morelli, of Upper Township, was indicted for second-degree burglary, third-degree theft and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Leonardo V. Perez, 38, of New York, faces third-degree burglary and fourth-degree theft counts related to an incident on Pacific Avenue, in Wildwood. Police reported that all stolen property was recovered.
Ronald D. Thornton, of Ocean City, faces a three-count indictment for sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, both second degree, along with aggravated criminal sexual contact, third degree.
Edward Winning was indicted for possession of a weapon, a box cutter, for unlawful purposes, second degree, along with two fourth-degree counts for criminal mischief and certain person. Winning was convicted in 2004 of aggravated assault.
Amber L. Rusden, Michael J. Labenz, Kevin T. Flannigan, and Jason A. Falcone were each separately indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS. Rusden faces two counts for two separate substances. Labenz and Flannigan were indicted together but on separate counts.
Charles W. Jobe, 33, and Anastasia M. Walton, 29, both of Del Haven, were each indicted for second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Jobe also faces a second-degree count for aggravated assault. The child was 8 months old.
Thomas McMenamin, 41, of Villas, faces a count of aggravated assault in the third degree.
Demonte R. Harris, 21, of Hamilton, was indicted on two counts of possession of a CDS and two counts of possession with intent to distribute. 
All counts were in the third degree. The drugs involved were fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Charles F. Gummel, of Middle Township, was indicted for third-degree aggravated assault stemming from a domestic violence incident.
