Indictments Filed June 27

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 11 indictments June 27.  
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance. 
“Uttering a forged instrument” is an offense in which an individual knowingly presents a forged document and misrepresents it as true to defraud others.
Vincent Watkins
Vincent Watkins, 57, of Whitesboro, was indicted for second-degree sexual assault. Watkins, an adult, involved with a local church Boy Scout troop, allegedly sexually assaulted a juvenile member of the troop on “diverse dates” between 1990 and 1993.  The victim at the time was between the age of 13 and 16 years old.
David Williamson
David Williamson, 30, or Villas, allegedly entered a property on East Greenwood Avenue, inflicted bodily injury on one resident and caused over $500 worth of damage to property.
He was indicted for burglary, second degree, as well as aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, each third degree. Another count in the indictment charged Williamson with fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Joseph Woods, Lateef Hicks
In August 2016, in Ocean City, Lateef Hicks allegedly accessed a credit card kept in a safe at a local business and gave the card to Joseph Woods who used it to purchase gas for his vehicle.
The indictment claims that both men were on duty and working their shifts at the business during the incident. The indictment listed two separate dates when this occurred.
The two were indicted for third-degree conspiracy. Hicks was also indicted for two counts of unlawful theft of a credit card in the fourth degree, while Woods faces two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, third degree.
Ashley Rudolph
Ashley Rudolph, 24, of Erma, was indicted for both third and fourth-degree theft, along with third-degree forgery and fourth-degree uttering a forged instrument.
Rudolph allegedly took a .38-special revolver from a male victim along with blank checks for an account at a local bank.  She presented checks in an amount greater than $200 and claimed them to be signed by the victim.
Duane Pitt
Duane Pitt, of Whitesboro, was indicted for third-degree burglary and fourth-degree theft for a break-in on East Wiley Street in Middle Township in May.
James Myrden Jr.
James Myrden Jr., 35, of Ocean View, was indicted for fourth-degree theft after he allegedly took over $200 worth of property from a local heating oil supplier. Myrden was indicted May 23 as well for possession of a CDS.
Luis A. Correa
Luis Correa, 29, of Court House, was indicted for possession of a CDS and possession with intent to distribute, each third degree. However, Correa’s alleged location, within 500 feet of public property, added a second-degree count to the indictment as well.
The incident occurred in May in Wildwood. It involved oxycodone.
Dakota A. Bush
Dakota Bush, of Ocean City, was indicted for computer-related crime and invasion of privacy, each third degree.
The indictment claims that Bush unlawfully accessed a computer and recorded intimate acts by a victim who was unaware she was being recorded.
Charles Kiefer
Charles Kiefer, 39, of Villas, was indicted for uttering a forged instrument, attempting to obtain a CDS by fraud and possession of a CDS, each in the third degree.
The indictment alleges that Kiefer altered a prescription blank and presented it at a national chain pharmacy in order to obtain Adderall, a combination amphetamine used to treat ADD and narcolepsy.
Kiefer was also allegedly in possession of hydrocodone, an opioid pain medication.
Jamie DeBona, Gonzalo Soto-Jimenez
Gonzalo Soto-Jimenez, 38, of Wildwood Crest, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin. Jamie DeBona, 42, of Wildwood was indicted for an attempt to possess a CDS, third degree. DeBona was indicted in early May for possession of a CDS.
Brian Askew
Brian Askew, 25, of Wildwood Crest, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, cocaine, and fourth-degree hindering apprehension stemming from an incident in Wildwood April 21.
The above individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
