COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 16 indictments June 21.

The crime of “certain person” below stands for certain person not to have a weapon. Individuals convicted of a felony are not allowed to carry a weapon at any time. When such an individual is found in possession of a weapon, a “certain person” charge is usually added to the indictment.

Police reports state that the two fed the girl alcohol and drugs and assaulted her when she was unable to give consent. (In New Jersey, the age of consent is 16.)
The four-count indictment alleges first-degree aggravated sexual assault, two counts, one count of second-degree sexual assault and a count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Conviction on a first-degree offense can carry a jail term of 10 to 20 years.
