COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up the following 17 indictments June 21.
Danzelle Wilson
Danzelle Wilson, 24, of Woodbine, was indicted for bail jumping, third degree. The Herald reported in April that Wilson was indicted for bail jumping for failure to show for a Feb. 26 court hearing. This new indictment adds a “failure to show” Feb. 5 as well.
When Wilson failed to appear, he was facing six separate indictments for various drug charges, receiving stolen property, second-degree robbery, weapons charges and multiple counts of hindering apprehension.
Wilson was finally lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center April 18 on a variety of charges including violation of a domestic restraining order.
Melissa C. Merritt
Melissa Merritt, 41, of Ocean City was stopped May 9 for driving while intoxicated in Upper Township. She had a 13-year-old in the car at the time.
Police stopped her vehicle as part of an investigation into two separate accidents, one of which caused what police described as “minor injury to another driver.”
Merritt was indicted for aggravated assault by auto, fourth-degree, and endangering the welfare of a child, second degree. Following the incident, police reports noted that Merritt was lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center. A check of inmates shows that she is no longer there.
Gerald Gaines
Gerald Gaines, 30, last known to be a resident of either Rio Grande or Wildwood., was indicted for violation of community supervision, third degree. Gaines was convicted in 2001 of aggravated sexual assault, first degree. Out of prison, he was required to obey the regulations of community supervision. This offense was not his first time failing to do so. In 2013, Gaines was listed as “most wanted” by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office for “Megan’s law violations.”
Terrance Dore
Terrance Dore, 36, of Villas, was indicted for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), third degree, hindering his apprehension, third degree, and endangering the welfare of a child, second degree, with four separate counts. Dore was arrested for possession of buprenorphine in March in Lower Township. Four children were involved in ways the indictment did not specify. The children ranged in age from 4 to 8 years old.
Michael Brown
Michael Brown, 23, of Whitesboro, was convicted in the past of endangering the welfare of a child. Given that conviction, his rights to carry a weapon are limited. On April 4, he was arrested in Wildwood for possession of a knife. He was indicted this week for a “certain person” charge, fourth degree.
Michael Borschell
Michael Borschell, 31, of Villas, was indicted for aggravated assault, second degree, criminal restraint and terroristic threats, both third degree, and endangering the welfare of a child, second degree. Police allege that Borschell caused injury to a woman whom he also restrained and threatened to kill. A 3-year-old child was in the home which added the endangerment charge.
Gage Adamczyk, Tiffany Mathews, Nikolas McKinney
Nikolas McKinney, 23, of Cold Spring, was indicted for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), third degree, two counts. The drugs in question were heroin and clonazepam.
Gage Adamczyk, 23, of Erma, and Tiffany Mathews, 27, of Cape May, were indicted for false incrimination, third degree, after police allege the two gave false information to implicate McKinney in a crime.
Separately, McKinney was indicted for possession of a CDS, third degree, and hindering apprehension, fourth degree. The incident for the indictment occurred in April in Wildwood. It involved heroin possession.
Caitlyn Young
Caitlyn Young, 26, of Green Creek, was indicted for possession of a CDS and possession with intent to distribute, both third degree. The incident occurred in Middle Township in March. The drug involved was heroin.

Jason Popplewell, Nikki Debona
Jason Popplewell, 30, and Nikki Debona, 29, both of Villas, were indicted for shoplifting merchandize valued at greater than $500 from a large retailer in Marmora. This is a third-degree count.
Michael Breslin
Michael Breslin, 26, of Lindenwold, was arrested for a Villas home invasion in 2015. He has been lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center since Aug. 10, 2015.
In May of this year, Breslin allegedly threw bodily fluids at a Sherriff’s Officer. He was indicted for fourth-degree throwing bodily fluids. He remains at the Correctional Center.
The individuals are only charged with the offenses and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
