COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 14 indictments July 23.
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Robert T. Spedding
Robert Spedding, of Middle Township, was indicted on one count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, along with three counts of second-degree sexual assault and two second-degree counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The indictment states between Aug. 1 and Sept. 2, 2009, Spedding sexually assaulted a 12-year-old child. It went on to claim Spedding assaulted a second child, age 9, in the period from May to Aug. 2014. Conviction on a first-degree count can carry 10 to 20 years of incarceration. A single second-degree count can result in a sentence of five to 10 years in prison.
Dalton A. Storms
Dalton Storms, 21, of Franklinville, was indicted for second-degree aggravated assault, along with violation of a public health and safety law, knowingly leaving the scene of an accident which resulted in serious bodily injury and endangering an injured victim, all three of these counts were in the third degree. The charges stem from a crash in Wildwood in May when a 56-year-old female victim was struck by an automobile in a hit-and-run accident.
Henry Voncolln
Henry Voncolln, 36, of Cape May, faces two counts of aggravated assault in the third degree, one assault count in the fourth degree, along with knowingly leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury and violation of a public health law, both in the third degree.
The indictment contained an added count for violation of a public health law, fourth degree. The charges arise from a driving-while-intoxicated incident in April in which two individuals were injured in a crash in which the indictment states Voncolln was driving under the influence.
Joseph Bassett, Brian Bentley, Jacklyn N. Fennimore, Pasquale Ferrucci, Donovan Smith, Ronald Weston
Each of the individuals listed faces one count of possession of a CDS, third degree.
Juan L. Rivera-Gonzalez
Juan Rivera-Gonzalez, 43, of Rio Grande, was indicted for third-degree shoplifting from a grocery store in Rio Grande June 11.
Juan L. Rivera-Gonzalez, Neishma S. Rosado-Rivera
On the same day as his arrest in Middle Township for shoplifting, Juan Rivera-Gonzalez, along with Neishma Rosado-Rivera, resisted arrest in Wildwood, landing both individuals a third-degree count. Rosado-Rivera was named in a second count for fourth-degree aggravated assault on a police officer.
Justin K. Willis
Justin Willis was arrested for possession of methamphetamine in Dennis Township in January. That arrest led to an indictment this week on one count of possession of a CDS and one count of possession with intent to distribute, each count in the third degree.
Daryl T. Braxton, April R. Turner
Daryl Braxton and April Turner were indicted for possession of a CDS, cocaine, in Dennis Township in March. Turner was named in a second count for hindering apprehension, fourth degree.
