COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 18 indictments July 19. The abbreviation for controlled dangerous substance used below is CDS.
Christopher F. Fox
Christopher Fox, 20, of Rio Grande, was indicted for aggravated sexual assault, first degree, along with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, second degree.
In addition Fox faces indictments for second-degree certain person not to have a weapon, third-degree invasion of privacy, and fourth-degree distribution of marijuana.  Fox is lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $250,000 bail.
The indictment alleges that Fox sexually assaulted a 16-year-old minor knowing that she was “physically helpless, mentally deficient, or mentally incapacitated.” It further alleges that he filmed her in intimate poses and distributed those images.
Fox, who had been previously convicted of burglary, was found in possession of a .38-caliber firearm leading to further charges.
Mathew A. Alston
On May 8, North Wildwood police responded to a report of a fight on 26th Avenue. The victim said he had been assaulted and had jewelry taken from him. Police located a suspect, Mathew Alston, 24, of Clementon, nearby and arrested him.
This week Alston was indicted for second-degree robbery, using force during a theft.  A conviction for a second-degree crime can carry a jail term of five to 10 years. A release asserted that Alston was also wanted on various warrants by four other municipalities.
Jacquelin Avelino
On May 24 in Ocean City, Jacquelin Avelino allegedly refused a sign to pull her vehicle over and attempted to elude police in a car chase. The car turned out to be a stolen 2001 Dodge 3500 van. She has been indicted for eluding police, second degree, and resisting arrested, third degree. The stolen car added a count for receiving stolen property, third degree.
Jameel Baez
Jameel Baez, 22, of Millville, was indicted for aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest, each third degree.  The incident occurred in Wildwood, May 27.
Barrett Brown
A traffic stop in North Wildwood on June 8 led to the arrest of Barrett Brown, 26, of West Wildwood. Brown was indicted for possession of a CDS and possession with intent to distribute, each third degree.
While the odor of marijuana led police to investigate at the traffic stop, Brown’s charges involve his alleged possession of “Molly,” a methamphetamine, in “an amount with intent to distribute.”
Ibin Burch
Facing charges for possession of a CDS, Ibin Burch, 21, was free on bail with a promise to show up for a hearing in Superior Court. He failed to show June 19 and was arrested and lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center June 23. He was, this week, indicted for third-degree bail jumping.
Taylor Rogers and Vincent Rodia
North Wildwood Police responded to a call concerning a motor vehicle accident May 28.  Police located the vehicle in a marina off New York Avenue. A female passenger, Taylor Rogers, 18, of Philadelphia, was with the car. Police say they found the driver, Vincent Rodia, 18, also of Philadelphia, hiding on one of the boats.
The car, a 2005 Honda with Pennsylvania registration, was stolen. The couple was allegedly in possession of heroin and a stun gun.
They were indicted for possession of a CDS, third-degree, theft, and Taylor had the added charge of possession of a prohibited weapon, fourth-degree.
Blair Crabtree, Philip Davis, Tyquwan Rahming, and Sarina Bruno
Blair Crabtree, 20, and Philip Davis, 29, both of Bridgeton, allegedly entered a series of parked cars looking for things of value. They were each indicted on four counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of third-degree theft.
Among the items taken was a credit card that was later fraudulently used at a local store belonging to a national chain. The use of the credit card also involved Tyquwan Rahming, 23, and Sarina Bruno, 23, both also of Bridgeton.  All four individuals were indicted for unlawful theft of a credit card and third-degree fraudulent use of a credit card.
Felipe Hernandez
Felipe Hernandez, 21, was indicted for both second and third degree aggravated assault on the same female victim. The fact that he left the scene while the victim was unable to care for herself added the count for endangering an injured victim, third-degree.
Cheryl Keenan
Cheryl Keenan, 32, of Beesley’s Point, was indicted for three counts of bail jumping, two of them third-degree and one was fourth-degree.  The indictment alleges that Keenan failed to appear for court sessions related to charges of resisting arrest and possession of a CDS.
Jerrad Seenath, Karen Piedrasanta-Godoy, Albert Dejesus
Jerrad Seenath, 18, Karen Piedrasanta-Godoy, 19, and Albert Dejesus, 19, all of Elizabeth, allegedly entered a room at a North Wildwood motel and took two credit cards.  The indictment further alleges that the three, along with a 17-year-old juvenile, then used the cards at a convenience store, a supermarket, and a pizza parlor.
The three were indicted for burglary, conspiracy, and fraudulent use of a credit card, all third degree, along with fourth-degree theft of a credit card.
The involvement of the juvenile in the crime also led to a second-degree count for using a juvenile in a crime.
The above individuals are only charged with the offenses and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
