Indictments Filed July 18

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 19 indictments July 18. The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
Gregory H. Gilberti
The grand jury indicted Gregory H. Gilberti for second-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact. According to the indictment, Gilberti engaged in unlawful sexual contact with the victim from May through June 2015.
In the period from June to July of that same year, Gilberti allegedly committed forcible sexual assault on the same victim. The indictment lists both Wildwood Crest and Cape May as locations for the alleged criminal behavior.
Sean Brickley
Sean Brickley, 59, of Flourtown, Pa., was indicted for fourth-degree felony stalking. Over a period of almost a year, Brickley allegedly engaged in behavior that left a female victim “to fear for her safety.”
Donna Bryant
Donna Bryant, 57, of Whitesboro, was indicted for possession of a CDS, hydrocodone, a third-degree offense.
Chadwick Handlovsky
Chadwick Handlovsky, 25, was indicted for second-degree aggravated assault causing “serious injury” to a female victim. The incident occurred in Lower Township May 1.
Maxmillian D’Angelo
In Wildwood, May 26, Maxmillian D’Angelo was arrested for possession of a switchblade knife. He was indicted for fourth-degree possession of a prohibited weapon.
Abmael Curbelo-Lugo
Abmael Curbelo-Lugo, 24, of Wildwood, stands indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin.
Patrick Hartman
Patrick Hartman, 23, of Millville, was arrested in Ocean City, May 4, on child pornography and sexual assault charges. This week, Hartman was indicted for second-degree sexual assault and enticing a child, as well as third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, two separate counts.
The child endangerment charges stem from the fact that the victim was 15. The charge of enticement grew out of allegations that Hartman allegedly lured the child into a motor vehicle or isolated area.
The indictment lists the period for the offenses as almost a year from April 2016 to May 2017.
Kristy Hegarty
Kristy Hegarty was indicted on four separate counts of distribution of a CDS and one count of possession with intent to distribute; each count was third degree. The indictment claims that Hegarty distributed methamphetamine on specific dates from February through March.
Tahiem Howell
Armed with a search warrant, police searched the residence of Tahiem Howell, 38, of North Wildwood. The indictment claims that police found five ounces or more of cocaine along with a smaller amount of heroin.
Howell faces a first-degree count of possession of a CDS with intent to distribute. The count is first degree due to a large amount of cocaine.
A first-degree offense can carry a jail term of 10 to 20 years.
Also, Howell was indicted for third-degree possession of heroin along with a second-degree count of possession with intent within 500 feet of public property.
Jennifer Howey
Jennifer Howey, 43, of Green Creek, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, alprazolam. She was arrested May 3 in Middle Township on the drug charge and driving while intoxicated.
William Jones
William Jones, 29, of Wildwood was due in court in Middle Township  Jan. 27 in connection with his earlier indictment for possession of a CDS with intent to distribute.  His failure to show led to this week’s indictment for third-degree bail jumping.
William Norris
William Norris, 18, of Norwood Pa., was indicted for possession of a prohibited weapon, fourth degree.  The incident occurred in North Wildwood in May, and the weapon in question was a pair of brass knuckles.
Melissa Rojas-Velazquez
Melissa Rojas-Velazquez was indicted for third-degree bail jumping after she failed to show for a hearing related to an indictment for third-degree theft.
James D. Phelps
James Phelps was arrested in Stone Harbor Feb. 19 for unlawful possession of a knife. Phelps has been indicted for unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon, each count in the fourth degree.
Jerry Murphy
Jerry Murphy, 38, of Belleplain, was indicted for third-degree burglary for unlawful entry into a parked vehicle on First Street in Rio Grande.
Edward McCleary
Edward McCleary, 38, of Wildwood, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, in the third degree.
Gabriel Sanchez
In the most ironic of this week’s indictments, Gabriel Sanchez, 30, of Wildwood, was indicted for third-degree bail jumping for failure to show for a hearing on a previous charge of third-degree bail jumping. Sanchez also faces a separate count of bail jumping for failure to show for a hearing on a charge of burglary in the third degree.
Linda Torella
Linda Torella, 31, of Wildwood was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin. The incident allegedly occurred in Wildwood April 24.
Dondre Spencer
Dondre Spencer, 25, of Wildwood, allegedly fled from police when they were attempting to make an arrest. He was indicted for fourth-degree resisting arrest.
The above individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
