COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 15 indictments Jan. 9. The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
James F. Enos
James Enos, 42, of North Wildwood, was indicted for third-degree failure to register a change of address. Enos was convicted in Florida in 1999 for a sex offense against a child requiring him to register with local law enforcement.
Jonathan Cruz
Jonathan Cruz, 25, of North Cape May, was indicted on two third-degree counts for possession of a CDS, cocaine, and possession with intent to distribute.
Brandon Wilson
Brandon Wilson, 19, of Paulsboro, was arrested in Middle Township for three burglaries of local businesses Oct. 15. Wilson allegedly unlawfully entered three Rio Grande businesses and attempted the burglary of another.
He was indicted on three counts of third-degree burglary, one count of third-degree attempted burglary and one count of fourth-degree theft. Police, responding to alarms, tracked Wilson to a local motel where he was arrested.
Subsequent information determined that Wilson was a suspect in a murder in Woodbury committed just days after Wilson was released from jail on drug charges in Pennsylvania.
This represents a re-indictment of Wilson on the local Cape May County charges since they were included in an indictment of Wilson handed up Jan. 2. The reasons that the grand jury reconsidered Wilson’s indictment were not stated.
Nathaniel O. Davis
Nathaniel Davis, of Wildwood, faces a seven-count indictment on drug charges. Davis was indicted for possession of marijuana, fourth degree, and possession of cocaine, third degree.
In both instances, the indictments include counts for possession with intent to distribute, both third degree.
The proximity to a public field added a count for second-degree possession with intent within 500 feet of public property.
Finally, Davis was allegedly found to be in possession of a stun gun and knife adding a second-degree count for possession of a weapon in the commission of a CDS crime.
Xavier Primavera
Xavier Primavera, 19, of North Cape May, was indicted for receiving stolen property, third degree. The property in question was a Yamaha golf cart. Primavera was indicted Jan. 2 for third-degree terroristic threats. He is lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center.
Salvatore Capo
Salvatore Capo, of Wildwood, was indicted for possession of a CDS, cocaine, third degree.
Giovanna M. Dente
Giovanna Dente, of Ocean City, allegedly resisted arrest, third degree, and committed aggravated assault, fourth degree.
Timothy M. Weidman
On Nov. 9 in Middle Township, Timothy Weidman was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Weidman alleged resisted and was this week indicted for third-degree resisting arrest.
Brandon Rott, Christopher Fox
Brandon Rott and Christopher Fox, both of Dennis Township, were indicted for third-degree burglary and theft for allegedly breaking into a food market on Route 47 and taking property valued at greater than $500.
Savannah G. Ryan
Savannah G. Ryan, 19, of Newark, allegedly took three credit cards from two victims and used them for purchases at a local cellphone store. She was indicted on three counts of unlawful theft of a credit card, all in the fourth degree, and two counts of third-degree fraudulent use of a credit card.
Christopher Sheeron
Christopher Sheeron, 40, of Sea Isle City, was indicted for possession of a CDS, fentanyl, third degree. Sheeron is lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center on parole violation charges.
Thomas Taylor
Thomas Taylor, of Middle Township, was indicted for possession, fourth degree, and possession with intent to distribute, third degree, marijuana.
Anthony G. Winter
Anthony Winter, of Rio Grande, was indicted for fourth-degree resisting arrest by attempting to elude police.
Thomas J. DiDonato, Jr.
Thomas DiDonato, Jr., of Wildwood, was indicted for second-degree burglary and third-degree terroristic threats.
Jennyvon Vasquez, Jason Rue, Jonathan Ortiz, Kathleen Vasquez
On Feb. 5, 2017, Wildwood police responded to a residence on Schellenger Avenue due to a report of a woman being held against her will. Following an investigation, police believed that the woman and her 1-year-old child were taken from the residence to a place on Leaming Avenue.
The female victim was able to escape from the second location and was located by Wildwood Crest police. The child was recovered. Mother and child were treated at Cape Regional Medical Center.
In March, five individuals were indicted in the case.
This week the grand jury issued a new indictment listing only four of the five listed in March.
Jennyvon Vasquez, 31, Jason Rue, 34, both of Ewing, and Jonathan Ortiz, 30, of Wildwood, were indicted for first-degree kidnapping. Jennyvon Vasquez, Rue, and Ortiz were also facing counts of second-degree aggravated assault, burglary, conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child, as well as third-degree theft.
Both Jennyvon Vasquez and Rue were also indicted for possession of a CDS and possession with intent to distribute, each third degree.
Wildwood resident Kathleen Vasquez, 49, was added to the kidnapping counts and, along with Ortiz, also faces counts for hindering apprehension.
The above individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
