Indictments Filed Jan. 16

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 13 indictments Jan. 16. The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance. All dates below are in 2017.  
Samuel Brozina
Samuel Brozina, 30, of Millville, was indicted for third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Brozina, a Class I police officer in Millville, allegedly had photos of a child under the age of 18 “engaged in a prohibited sexual act” on his cellphone. The cellphone was examined by State Police during the investigation into the death of a 27-year-old woman while she was staying in Strathmere. This indictment makes no statements related to that death.
Jonathan Colon-Gonzalez, Jose L. Lopez-Santiago, Ricardo Mercado
Jonathan Colon-Gonzalez, Jose L. Lopez-Santiago and Ricardo Mercado, all of Wildwood, were indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin. An alleged attempt to tamper with or conceal evidence led to Mercado also facing a fourth-degree count of hindering apprehension.
Joseph Bryant, Ashley Laracuente
Joseph Bryant, of Woodbine, was indicted on six counts of drug possession and intent. Bryant allegedly had over five ounces of cocaine in his possession leading to a first-degree count for possession with intent.
He was additionally charged with third-degree possession of heroin and cocaine, fourth-degree possession of marijuana along with two counts of third-degree possession with intent to distribute.
The same indictment listed Ashley Laracuente, also of Woodbine, as indicted for second-degree burglary. The indictment made no statement as to how the two individuals were connected.
Adam Atkinson
Adam Atkinson, of Ocean City, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, third degree.
Dominic Digilio
Dominic Digilio, of Wildwood, was indicted for third-degree aggravated assault.
Brad Sims, Megan Kincade
Megan Kincade, 38, of Wildwood, was indicted for third-degree burglary along with fourth-degree theft and receiving stolen property.
Brad Sims, also of Wildwood, was added to the indictment count for fourth-degree receiving stolen property.
Michael A. Soto, Troy Lee, Bianca Perez
Michael Soto, 52, and Bianca Perez, 32, both of Millville, along with Troy Lee, 45, of Court House, were all charged with third-degree shoplifting and conspiracy.
Kristin Fitzgerald
Kristin Fitzgerald, 35, of Westville, was indicted for second-degree eluding police. The indictment stated that Fitzgerald failed to stop her vehicle when signaled to do so by police and attempted to elude in such a manner as to “create risk of death or injury” to others.
Erick Peirce
In another eluding indictment, Erick Peirce also tried to evade police in a motor vehicle in Middle Township.  He faces a second-degree count for eluding.
Raymond Hall
Raymond Hall was arrested in Dennis Township for possession of cocaine in May. He was indicted this week for third-degree possession of a CDS.
Brett Simpson
According to police, Brett Simpson, 24, of Court House, was found to be in possession of over 50 “wax folds” of heroin when they conducted a motor vehicle stop in May. Simpson was indicted for possession of a CDS, third degree.
Adam Reeves
Adam Reeves allegedly unlawfully entered a residence on Sunset Road in August in Dennis Township. During the burglary, Reeves allegedly took property valued at more than $500 and caused over $200 worth of damage. He was indicted for third-degree burglary and theft, along with fourth-degree criminal mischief and receiving stolen property.
Gary F. Schmidt
Gary Schmidt, of Wildwood, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, third degree.
The above individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
