COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 12 indictments Jan. 15.
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
A charge of “certain person not to have a weapon” can be brought against someone possessing a weapon who was previously convicted of a felony.
The individuals listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Jeffrey A. Cash and Marilyn E. Hamann-McCormick
A Dennis Township arrest has led to the indictment of Jeffrey Cash and Marilyn Hamann-McCormick on a count of first-degree possession of a CDS with intent to distribute. The CDS was LSD in an amount of 100 milligrams or more. A conviction for a first-degree crime can carry a prison term of 10 to 20 years.
The indictment also contains counts for third-degree possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, along with second-degree possession of a weapon during the commission of a CDS crime. The weapon was a .22 caliber rifle.
Since both Cash and Hamann-McCormick had previous convictions, they are both also facing a second-degree count for “certain person not to have a weapon.”
Hamann-McCormick was convicted in 1992 in Cape May County for distribution of a CDS. Cash’s previous conviction was in Upper Deerfield for violation of a domestic violence restraining order in 2009.
Brian D. Stewart, Joseph P. Kennedy, Gary W. Hickox, and Dirk H. Cancelosi
The four individuals listed were separately indicted for possession of a CDS in the third degree. Stewart, Kennedy, and Hickox were arrested in Dennis Township. Cancelosi’s arrest came in Upper Township.

Ambrose Moore faces a three-count indictment for resisting arrest and hindering apprehension, each in the third degree, along with a fourth-degree count for resisting arrest. The incident leading to the indictment occurred in December 2018 in Middle Township.
Ronald Forsyth
Ronald Forsyth, of Upper Township, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, methamphetamine, and possession with intent to distribute. The indictment also contained a count for fourth-degree tampering with physical evidence.
