COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 24 indictments Feb. 7. The abbreviation CDS used below stands for Controlled Dangerous Substance. Individuals convicted of certain crimes forfeit their right to possess a weapon. The charge “certain person” below stands for a “certain person not to have weapons” offense. The term is often applied to individuals who have violated the ban on weapons.
Matthew Boyes
At 9:30 p.m. Dec. 27, 2016, Lower Township Police stopped a vehicle on Bayshore Road for a traffic violation. A strong odor of marijuana reported by police led to a search of the car and eventual arrest of Matthew Boyes, 19, of Villas.
Boyes was indicted for possession of a CDS, fourth degree, and the more serious count of possession with intent to distribute third degree. The amount of marijuana allegedly found in the car was over 50 grams leading to the third-degree count.
Kelly Bradley
Kelly Bradley, 32, of Mays Landing, was indicted for two counts of third-degree theft. Bradley, according to police reports, allegedly met the victim through an online dating service. The indictment and police reports contend that Kelly took $8,000 in cash and the victim’s 2004 Mazda 3 automobile.
John Crenshaw, Christopher Funes
In separate, unconnected indictments, two men face charges of third-degree bail jumping.
John Crenshaw failed to appear when required for a hearing on an earlier indictment for fourth-degree operating a motor vehicle during a second license suspension. That action took his initial fourth-degree offense and added to it a third-degree indictment.
Christopher Funes also failed to appear for a hearing on his fourth-degree indictment for sexual contact.
James Cotton
James Cotton, 41, of North Wildwood, was indicted for three third-degree counts of possession of a CDS, heroin, distribution of a CDS, and distribution within 1000 feet of a school. The close presence of Cedar Park in Wildwood added a second-degree count of distribution within 500 feet of public property.
Joseph Macken
Joseph Macken, 31, of North Wildwood, allegedly broke into a home in Del Haven, held the mother and 3-year-child hostage at gunpoint, and robbed the home of cash, a credit card, and a cell phone. His list of counts in the indictment includes one first-degree offense for armed robbery, three-second degree offenses for burglary, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, and certain person, and three third-degree counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal restraint, and endangering the welfare of a child. The certain person charged stemmed from Macken’s previous conviction in 2006 for distribution of a CDS.
Michael Gillen, Erich Hartman, Michael Loper, Philip Martin, Mark Moore, Jayson Moyo-Rosario, Christopher Nichols
The following individuals were indicted separately from each other on third-degree possession of a CDS. In all but two cases, the drug involved was heroin:
Michael Gillen, 21, of Wildwood, Erich Hartman, 37, of Wildwood Crest, Michael Loper, 30, of North Cape May, Philip Martin, 56, of Wildwood, Mark Moore, 30, of Burleigh, Jayson Moyo-Rosario, 30, of Court House, and Christopher Nichols, of Wildwood.
Lora Maxwell
Lora Maxwell, 43, of Court House, was indicted for third-degree theft.
Eric Moyer
Eric Moyer, 38, of Villas, was indicted for burglary, theft and criminal mischief, each count third degree. Moyer allegedly entered eight tree-trimming company’s vehicles taking movable property valued at more than $500 and causing damage amounting to a loss of $2,000.
Macey Seddon
Macey Seddon, 21, of Court House, was arrested in Lower Township in August 2016, for fraudulent use of a credit card at a convenience store, a drug store, a food market, and a national cell phone carrier outlet. Seddon was indicted for third-degree theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, as well as fourth-degree unlawful theft or receipt of a credit card.
Harry Speer
Harry Speer, 65, was indicted for fourth-degree criminal mischief. The indictment provided no details of the incident which occurred in Cape May July 19, 2016.
Miguel Torres
Miguel Torres, 27, of Wildwood, was indicted for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, fourth degree, and possession with intent within 1,000 feet of a school and 500 feet of public property, each third degree.
Ian Smith
Ian Smith, of Wildwood, was indicted for three third-degree counts of possession of a CDS, distribution of a CDS, and distribution of a CDS within 1000 feet of a school. The nearby presence of Cedar Park added a second-degree count of distribution within 500 feet of public property.
Bethanne Eck, Desiree Sangillo, Robert Raff, Walter Hill
Bethanne Eck, 37, of Villas, Desiree Sangillo, 40, of Villas, Robert Raff, 39, and Walter Hill, 40, of Del Haven were each indicted for third-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and receiving stolen property. The shotgun in question as the weapon was allegedly stolen.
Raff and Hill each added counts individually for second-degree certain person. Raff had previously been convicted of distribution of a CDS in 2006 and Hill of the same offense in 2005.
Bobby Williams
Bobby Williams, 33, of Rio Grande, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, two counts, and fourth-degree resisting arrest by attempting to flee.
Malcolm Jones, Alexis Pacheco
Malcolm Jones, 28, and Alexis Pacheco, 24, both of Wildwood, were indicted for possession of a CDS and possession with intent to distribute, both third degree. Their proximity to the Wildwood Housing Authority added a second-degree count of possession with intent within 500 feet of public property.
Scott and Stephanie Hudson
Scott Hudson, 24, and Stephanie Hudson, 31, both of West Wildwood, were indicted for burglary, conspiracy, two counts of theft, and possession of a CDS, each count third degree. The drug in question, a prescription drug alprazolam, was part of the property stolen from a home.
Susan Coen, Dana Coen, Marilyn Reyes
The grand jury handed up an 11-count indictment, each third count degree, to three women involved in taking a doctor’s prescription pad and forging prescriptions for oxycodone in outlets in three different jurisdictions over a period from July to September of 2016.
Marilyn Reyes is the individual charged with taking the prescription pad, but all three women were charged in the conspiracy. Reyes allegedly presented forged prescriptions in Wildwood, Susan Coen, 58, of Wildwood, allegedly did so in Lower Township, and Dana Coen allegedly followed suit at a pharmacy in Woodbine.
The 11 count indictment, each third degree, was for theft, forgery, uttering a false instrument, three counts, obtaining a CDS by fraud, two counts, possession of a CDS, possession with intent to distribute, conspiracy, and attempting to obtain a CDS by fraud.
The above individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
