Indictments Filed Feb. 28

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 11 indictments Feb. 28.  The abbreviation CDS stands for controlled dangerous substance. 
Lee Jaudon
Lee “Poppy” Jaudon, 34, of Edison, was observed by undercover police officers in Middle Township allegedly distributing drugs Dec. 15, 2016. Based on the observations, the police were able to obtain and execute a warrant to search a vehicle. Heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine were found in the vehicle. 
Jaudon faces a 10-count indictment which includes three counts of possession of a CDS, third degree, three counts of possession with intent to distribute, two of which are third degree and the last is second degree due to a larger than one-half ounce amount of cocaine, and three second-degree counts of intent to distribute within 500 feet of public property. The public area in question was the Cape May Bird Observatory, Goshen.
Lori Prettyman, John Leszczynski, Karl Knoyer
Lori Prettyman, 36, John Leszczynski, 36, both of Villas, and Karl Knoyer, 27, of Blackwood allegedly unlawfully entered a home on Drumbed Road in Villas and stole a camera worth more than $500.  Police later learned that three suspects attempted to sell a camera matching the description of the stolen property at a local consignment shop.
The three were indicted for conspiracy and receiving stolen property, each count third-degree. Knoyer, when arrested, was in possession of a substance believed to be heroin. He faces an additional count of third-degree possession of a CDS.
Crystal Staffieri
Crystal Staffieri, 35, of Goshen, was indicted on two counts of third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin, and cocaine. Staffieri was the subject of a wanted bulletin from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Feb. 9 after she failed to appear for a scheduled hearing.
Edward Shaw
Edward Shaw, 29, of Burleigh,  faces an indictment for fourth-degree resisting arrest after he fled Middle Township Police on January 16.
Sean K. Reed
Sean Reed, of Ocean City, was indicted for second-degree aggravated arson after he allegedly set a fire on Wesley Avenue on the island. The indictment claims that the fire placed two females in danger of serious injury or death.
Jeffrey Gleeson, Davis Gonzales-Morell
Davis Gonzales-Morell, 24, of Wildwood, was allegedly engaged in the distribution of drugs within 1,000 feet of Wildwood High School. He was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, distribution and distribution within 1000 feet of a school, each count third degree. Also, Gonzales-Morell faces fourth-degree counts of resisting arrest and possession of a prescription legend drug, carbamazepine, a drug used to treat seizures and nerve pain. He is lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center.
Jeffrey Gleeson allegedly had possession of a CDS, third degree, and hindered apprehension by fleeing fourth degree.
Christa Iames
For the second time in February, Christa Iames was indicted for possession of a CDS, methamphetamine, third degree. Her earlier indictment was Feb. 14, two weeks prior.
Edward B. Fennimore
Edward Fennimore, 28, of North Cape May, was indicted for third-degree theft for allegedly taking property from a female victim on various dates from March to November 2016.
Josue Capella
Josue Capella, 31, of Wildwood Crest, was indicted for possession of a CDS, fentanyl, third degree.
Genesis C. Abbatiello
Genesis Abbatiello, of Wildwood, was arrested Nov. 23, 2016, for allegedly possessing heroin.  He was indicted this week for third-degree possession of a CDS.
The individuals are only charged with the offenses and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
