COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury had a busy week handing up 35 indictments, 20 of which involved drug possession or distribution. In many cases they were linked to crimes against property as well. Note: The abbreviation CDS is used throughout for controlled-dangerous substance.
Joseph Salladino
Joseph Salladino, 34, of Villas, was indicted for robbery in the first degree for an incident that allegedly occurred Feb. 28, 2012. According to the indictment, Salladino robbed two female victims while armed with a “silver revolver.” Salladino was also charged with two counts of possession of a CDS with intent to distribute, both third degree crimes. Since Salladino was previously convicted of second degree aggravated assault in 1997, he was also forbidden to carry a weapon.
The long list of charges in the indictment include a number of first and second degree offenses which can result in long prison sentences. In addition to the robbery and drug charges, Salladino faces first degree unlawful possession of a weapon along with second degree charges for possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of a weapon, and unlawful possession of a weapon during a CDS crime. His previous conviction also led to a second degree certain person charge.
Kelisha Johnson, Irwin Rishton, William Jones
On Nov. 17, 2015, police executed a search warrant for a property on West Roberts Avenue, Wildwood. The search produced quantities of heroin, cocaine, and marijuana. Additionally police discovered a loaded “9 mm Ruger semi-automatic handgun.”
Kelisha Johnson, 28, and William Jones, 28, both of Wildwood faced additional charges because they had a legal obligation to care for 3 and 5-year-old children who, according to the indictment, were neglected and endangered. Irwin Rishton, 29, of Brooklyn, N.Y. was also present and was in possession of the handgun.
The indictment against Jones and Johnson includes possession of CDS as well as possession with intent to distribute. Jones was also charged with heroin distribution within 1,000 feet of Wildwood High School, all third degree. The charge of endangering the welfare of a child against Jones and Johnson is a second degree offense.

Police say they two maintained a home equipped to produce methamphetamine.  The home on Maple Road also contained what police believe was the drug itself. When police responded to a call at the home, they found Matthews with burns on his face and hands from chemicals used in the drug production process. Police said Alexander was spotted running from the scene.
Jessie Daisey, Brandon Strausser, Tammy Flynn, Robert Treon, William Green, Allen Crouse
