COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 20 indictments Dec. 6. The abbreviation CDS stands for controlled dangerous substance.
Kristine Costello
Kristine Costello, 48, of Egg Harbor Township, worked at a hotel in Cape May when she allegedly forged three checks from hotel accounts made payable to herself totaling $1,944. Costello was indicted for third-degree forgery, uttering a forged instrument, and theft.
John Trace
John A. Trace, of Wildwood, was indicted for possession of a CDS and possession with intent to distribute, each third degree, along with two fourth-degree counts of resisting arrest and operating a vehicle without a license.
Trace allegedly was in possession of more than an ounce of marijuana which he intended to distribute. He attempted to flee to elude arrest and was also found in possession of amphetamine.
Shawn Webber
Shawn Webber, 23, of Millville, allegedly conspired with an unindicted co-conspirator to commit shoplifting at a Rio Grande merchant. The indictment claims that Webber then executed the plan and took more than $500 of merchandise. He was indicted for conspiracy and shoplifting, each third degree.
Jacklyn Kelley
Jacklyn Kelly, of Lower Township, was indicted on second-degree false incrimination charges. She allegedly knowingly gave false information to police to incriminate another individual.
Christin Abrams
Christin Abrams, 19, of Leesburg, allegedly took moveable property from a national merchant’s store in Rio Grande from September to October. He was indicted for third-degree theft.
Michael Esbensen
Michael Esbensen, 23, of North Wildwood, was indicted for resisting arrest, third degree, and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Esbensen allegedly threatened North Wildwood police officers with the use of force to try and prevent his arrest. While resisting he also allegedly damaged “tangible property of North Wildwood.”
Joseph Vanaman, Kevin O’Malley, Duel Muniz-Rodriguez, Talih Lamkin, Jorge Esqualan
In separate indictments the following were indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS: Joseph Vanaman, 33, Lower Township, heroin; Kevin O’Malley, of Middle Township, cocaine; Duel Muniz-Rodriguez, 24, of Wildwood, heroin; Talih Lamkin, 31, of Atlantic City, cocaine; and Jorge Esqualan, of Wildwood, hydrocodone.
Alessia Herman, Erin Dinunzio, Cory Schreur
On Aug. 12 in Wildwood, Erin Dinunzio, 19, of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., was arrested for possession of a CDS. Later the charge of possession with intent to distribute was added and two other individuals, Alessia Herman and Cory Schreur, were added. The three were indicted for possession of a CDS, oxycodone, and for possession with intent to distribute, each charge third degree.
Joseph Pierce
Joseph Pierce, 32, of Court House, was indicted for possession of a CDS and possession with intent to distribute, each in the third degree. The drug involved was heroin.
Kenneth Torelli
Kenneth Torelli, 28, of North Cape May, was indicted for the fourth-degree crime of operating a motor vehicle during a second license suspension.
William Gillen
William Gillen, 53, of Villas, was indicted on two fourth-degree counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, a billy club, and unlawful possession of a weapon, three knives. The arrest occurred in July in Wildwood.
Robert Foster
Robert Foster, 51, of Wildwood, was indicted for the fourth-degree charge of certain person. That charge is applied when an individual has been convicted of a previous crime that carries with it the requirement that he no longer be allowed to possess a weapon. Foster was found with a knife and had been convicted in 1995 of endangering the welfare of a child in Cape May County.
James Murray
James Murray, 31, of Woodbine, was indicted for resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a police officer, each third degree. The altercation with police resulted when the officers responded to a domestic disturbance.
Aidan McAtamney
Aiden McAtamney, 21, of Wildwood Crest, was indicted for burglary, third degree, and theft, fourth degree. McAtamney allegedly entered a residence on Denver Avenue and took property valued at more than $200.
Michael Loper
Michael Loper, 30, of North Cape May, allegedly unlawfully entered a residence on Bay Drive. Encountering an individual in the residence, Loper, according to the indictment, “attempted to inflict bodily injury” on the individual. Loper was indicted for second-degree burglary.
Howard Gilpin III
Howard Gilpin III, 28, of Burleigh, was indicted for shoplifting, third degree after he allegedly took merchandise valued at greater than $500 from a large national retailer in Rio Grande.
The above individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
