Dwayne Wakefield
One year ago, in indictments filed Nov. 1, 2016, the Herald reported that Angela Davis, 28, and Dwayne Wakefield, 47, were arrested after their home in Whitesboro was the subject of a search warrant. Various drug charges were brought against the two individuals along with five counts for endangering the welfare of a child relating to the alleged neglect of five minor children found in the home.
This week the grand jury re-indicted Wakefield on all the same charges stemming from the same incident but did not have Angela Davis listed as indicted on any of the counts.
Wakefield had two new counts added, both for conspiracy and both named Angela Davis as a party to the conspiracy without indicting her.
The counts from this week’s indictment of Wakefield were: second-degree conspiracy (with Davis mentioned), possession of a CDS, two counts, third degree, possession with intent to distribute, second degree, two counts, a count for possession with intent, third degree, a second third-degree conspiracy count (again mentioning Davis) and again the five counts of second degree endangering the welfare of a child.
The indictment offers no reasons why the charges were brought again this year or why Davis’ relationship to the indictments changed even though she was still mentioned as a conspirator.
The above individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
