COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up eight indictments Dec. 4.
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
The individuals listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
James J. Dehainaut
James Dehainaut, 19, of Swainton, faces an 11-count indictment. The indictment states that on Oct. 8, Dehainaut, armed with a flare gun, set fires at a home on Anna Street in Whitesboro and another residence on Goshen Road in Court House.
The indictment lists two juveniles as participating in the arson with Dehainaut. Counts are also included for an Oct. 7 burglary of a boat and the theft of movable property valued at greater than $500.
Dehainaut was indicted on first-degree employing a juvenile in a crime, four counts of second-degree aggravated arson, and one count of second-degree conspiracy with the juvenile participants.
He also faces third-degree counts for possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, burglary, theft and receiving stolen goods. Lastly, the indictment includes a fourth-degree count for unlawful possession of a weapon.
Conviction on a first-degree count can carry a 10 to 20-year jail sentence. Second-degree counts can mean as much as a 5 to 10-year jail sentence.
Dehainaut was lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center.
Jared M. Erhart
Jared Erhart, of North Wildwood, was indicted on three third-degree counts for aggravated assault that also met the definition of domestic violence. Erhart was placed in the county Correctional Center.
Gregory N. Gauntt
Gregory Gauntt, 37, of Court House, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, in the third degree.
Frederick J. Collins
Frederick Collins, of Wildwood, faces a two-count indictment for burglary and resisting arrest, both counts in the third degree.
Amanda V. Mayerson
Amanda Mayerson, 21, of Rio Grande, was indicted on two counts of possession of a CDS, methamphetamine and alprazolam, each count in the third degree.
Kevin McNeil
Kevin McNeil, 25, of Pleasantville, was indicted for fourth-degree hindering apprehension.
Edward G. McCleary
Edward McCleary, of Wildwood, was indicted on six counts, each third degree. He faces two counts of possession of a CDS, heroin, along with two counts of distribution of a CDS and two counts of distribution within 1000 feet of a school.
Anthony M. Spagnolo
Anthony Spagnolo was indicted on three counts of fourth-degree stalking and three counts of fourth-degree cyber harassment. The indictment lists a female victim of the stalking, along with a male who was both stalked and harassed. A second female victim was cyber harassed.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
