COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 25 indictments Dec. 20. The abbreviation CDS stands for controlled dangerous substance. A charge of “certain person” means that the individual being charged had been previously convicted of a crime that removed his right to possess a weapon. Violation of this ban is itself a separate offense.
Harold Perez-Heredia
On April 27, Middle Township police and members of the Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant on a motel room on North Wildwood Boulevard. Harold Perez-Heredia, 24, was arrested for heroin possession and distribution. The grand jury indicted Perez-Heredia on five separate counts of third-degree distribution of a CDS, possession of a CDS with intent to distribute, third degree and endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree, three counts. The three children at the motel ranged in ages from 10 to 15 years old.
Dennis Krueger
Dennis Krueger, 45, of North Cape May, was indicted on four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, three of them in the second degree and one in the third. His arrest followed an investigation into the downloading and/or sharing of child pornography. Several computers and cell phones at Krueger’s residence were seized. Krueger allegedly used a peer-2-peer network to access and share videos and images of child porn.
Kelvin Claudio
Kelvin Claudio, 27, of Rio Grande was arrested by the Middle Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit in May after he was observed driving in Rio Grande. According to a press release, police knew the individual and knew he was wanted on outstanding warrants. When Claudio was stopped and arrested on a warrant, 32 bags of heroin and cocaine were found in the vehicle along with a forbidden weapon.
Claudio was indicted on two counts of possession of a CDS, possession with intent to distribute and hindering apprehension, each count being in the third degree. He is also facing two-second degree counts for possession with intent within 500 feet of public property and possession of a weapon while engaged in a CDS crime. Also, Claudio’s previous conviction for aggravated assault meant that he was banned from possessing a weapon and the indictment added a fourth-degree certain person charge.
Kevin Craner-Morey
Kevin Craner-Morey, of Lower Township, was indicted on three counts of endangering the welfare of a child following his arrest for possession of and distribution of child pornography. Two counts were in the second degree and one in the third.
Kayla Boyle
Kayla Boyle, 28, of Cape May, was indicted for second-degree endangering the welfare of a child following her arrest Nov. 8 in Wildwood. The child involved was 7 years old. Boyle had been previously arrested for DWI in September.

Kristin Bongard
Kristin Bongard, 34, of Villas, was indicted for possession of a CDS and possession with intent to distribute, each count third degree. The drug involved was clonazepam.
Ronald Chavanne
Ronald Chavanne, 29, of Erma, allegedly unlawfully entered into a Class A Motor Coach in Wildwood in September. He was indicted for second-degree burglary. Chavanne was placed in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $35,000 bail.

Robert Hamilton was arrested Feb. 14 in Sea Isle City for perpetrating over $2,000 of damage to another’s property.  He was indicted for third-degree criminal mischief.
Charles Griggs, 3rd
Charles Griggs, 3rd, 31, was indicted for failure to register a change of address, third degree. Griggs was convicted in 1999 of the crime of sexual assault. That conviction imposed community supervision requirements which he allegedly violated.
Alexa James
Alexa James, 24, of Court House had been arrested for third-degree theft and released with the requirement of appearing for a court date Dec. 2. James failed to appear and was indicted for an additional count of third-degree bail jumping.
Brian Kurtz
Brian Kurtz, 41, of Cold Spring was convicted of aggravated assault in 1996 and thus was forbidden to carry or possess a weapon. He was arrested in October for possessing a firearm in violation of that ban.  He was indicted for second-degree certain person.
Nicholas Olexa
Nicholas Olexa, 23, of Villas, was indicted for sexual assault, second degree, and endangering the welfare of a child, third degree. From March to June of this year, Olexa allegedly engaged in sexual behavior with a 15-year-old.
