COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up the following indictments Dec. 15:
Philip Cimini
Philip Cimini, 34, of Del Haven, was indicted for violation of community supervision, a third-degree offense. Cimini allegedly failed to meet several requirements of his supervision which stemmed from his conviction in Cape May County for endangering the welfare of a child in 2006.
The indictment maintains that Cimini, over a period from July to September, had unauthorized contact with minor children, failed to report to a parole officer, resided in an unapproved residence, and failed to remain law abiding. He is lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center.
In addition to violating the terms of his special sentence from the 2006 conviction, Cimini was also arrested Sept. 11 and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault involving a child under the age of 18.
Jeffrey Keys
Also facing an indictment for criminal sexual contact, fourth degree, and endangering the welfare of a child, third degree, is Jeffrey Keys. Keys was arrested in Sea Isle City June 14. The indictment alleges that Keys “engaged in sexual conduct” with minors under the age of 16.
Kelvin Aquilar-Soto
Queens, N.Y., resident Kelvin Aquilar-Soto was stopped by police on Pacific Avenue in Wildwood for a traffic violation. Aquilar-Soto was allegedly found to be in possession of 84 bags of heroin. Aquilar-Soto was indicted for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and possession of a CDS with intent to distribute, both third degree.
Since Aquilar-Soto was within 1,000 feet of Wildwood High School, and within 500 feet of public property, Holly Beach Park, he was also indicted on two additional third degree offenses.
Nicole M. Barbera
Nicole Barbera, 18, of Ocean City, was indicted for theft in the third degree. She allegedly took property valued in excess of $500 from a local convenience store in a period from Sept. 7 to 29. Earlier in the year, Feb. 11, Barbera was arrested with a male accomplice and charged with theft of an air conditioning unit in Somers Point.
James Donnelly
James Donnelly, 21, of Villas, was indicted for possession of a CDS, two counts, and possession with intent to distribute, all third degree. Donnelly was arrested in Middle Township Sept. 30. The drugs in question are buprenorphine, Schedule III, and Oxycodone, Schedule II.
Rasheed Byrd
On Sept.12, Rasheed Byrd, 40, of Philadelphia, allegedly took credit cards belonging to multiple individuals along with property valued in excess of $500. The indictment maintains that Byrd subsequently used one of the three stolen cards to make purchases on two occasions.
Nashaun Butler
Nashaun Butler was arrested June 28 in Ocean City for firearms violations. He was indicted for unlawful possession of a weapon in the second degree and for possession of prohibited devices, fourth degree. The weapon in question was a Smith & Wesson .38 special revolver and the devices were hollow point bullets.
The above individuals are only charged with the offenses and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
