COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 18 indictments Dec. 13. The abbreviation CDS stands for controlled dangerous substance. A charge of “certain person” means that the individual being charged with possession of a weapon had been previously convicted of a specific offense which under state statutes forever denies him or her any right to have a weapon. Violation is itself a separate offense.
Charles Gummel
Charles Gummel, 54, of Woodbine, was indicted for possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and certain person, each second degree, along with fourth-degree aggravated assault. Police allege that Gummel was involved in a domestic dispute when he pointed a pellet gun at a relative. Gummel was convicted in 1980 of burglary and was no longer allowed to possess a weapon.
Matthew Hauser
Matthew Hauser, 27, of Somers Point allegedly unlawfully entered an Ocean City Boardwalk restaurant taking property valued at more than $500. He was indicted for burglary, and theft, each in the third degree. Hauser was indicted in September on another burglary charge and in October on drug charges.
Jesus Hernandez-Castro
Jesus Hernandez-Castro, 36, was indicted for violation of community supervision, third degree. In 2005 Hernandez-Castro was convicted of endangering the welfare of a child and subjected to lifetime supervision. Part of that agreement requires that the individual “obey all laws and ordinances.” The indictment alleges that Hernandez-Castro “violated a condition of his supervision.”
In November, Hernandez-Castro was indicted for second-degree aggravated assault.
John P. Hoover
John P. Hoover, 36, of Ocean View, was indicted for two counts of third-degree possession of a CDS. In this case, the drugs involved were Schedule III drugs, buprenorphine, and methandrosteno.
Ander Garcia-Soto
Ander Garcia-Soto, 33, of Wildwood, was indicted for burglary and theft, each is a third-degree offense. Garcia-Soto allegedly entered an apartment on Burk Avenue and took property valued at greater than $500.
Hector Colon, Richard Calverley
Hector Colon, 36, of Vineland, and Hector Calverley, 24, of Millville, were indicted for third-degree theft. The indictment alleges that they took a “domestic companion dog” belonging to a female victim in North Wildwood.
Antwain Feaster
Antwain Feaster, 40, of Ocean City, was indicted for endangering the welfare of a child, third degree, and criminal sexual contact, fourth degree. The incident involved a 15-year-old child.
Ricardo Deliquadro
Ricardo Deliquadro, 30, of Villas, allegedly threatened to kill a woman, attempted to cause her serious bodily injury and purposely damaged her property. He was indicted for third-degree terroristic threats and aggravated assault, along with fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Marquise Coleman
Marquise Coleman, on September 6, Wildwood police responded to a call concerning an armed robbery. The suspect allegedly displayed a knife and demanded money from the victim.
Police located a suspect four blocks away, finding him in possession of a knife. Follow-up investigation led to the charge and indictment for first-degree robbery, third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, and two fourth-degree counts of unlawful possession of a weapon and prohibited weapon. The prohibited weapon charge stemmed from the fact that the knife in question was a switchblade.
Darian Lehner, Jared Smith
Darian Lehner and Jared Smith, in late afternoon Sept. 1, were in a traffic stop in Rio Grande that resulted in officers seeing items they believed had been taken during a recent burglary in Goshen.
Two individuals in the vehicle were taken into custody. Lehner, 18, of Goshen, and Smith, 21, of Rio Grande were indicted for burglary, conspiracy, and theft, all in the third degree.
Patrick Macomber
Patrick Macomber allegedly entered a residence on 86th Street in Stone Harbor and took moveable property valued at greater than $500. He was indicted for third degree burglary and theft.
Benjamin Barreiro, Matthew Ennis, Daniel Snock, John Styer, Marilyn Vazquez, Rebecca Pelletier, and Joseph Steel
Benjamin Barreiro, of Dennis Township, Matthew Ennis, of Ocean City, Daniel Snock, of Wildwood, John Styer, 29, of Cape May, Marilyn Vazquez, of Wildwood, Rebecca Pelletier, 31, of Wildwood, and Joseph Steel, 35, of Villas were all indicted separately for third-degree possession of a CDS.
The above individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
