Indictments Filed Aug. 30

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 15 indictments Aug. 30. The abbreviation for controlled dangerous substance used below is CDS. 
James L. Belcher
James Belcher, 60, of Ocean View, was indicted on five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, one third-degree, and four second- degree. The arrest stemmed from cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and concerned a suspect who allegedly sent videos/images of child pornography over the Internet.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant and the seizure of multiple files of suspected child pornography.
Brian Rhuberg
Called to a fight in progress, Wildwood Crest Police arrested Brian Rhuberg, 58, of Villas, for aggravated assault. The victim, a male who was allegedly struck in the head with a golf club, was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Rhuberg, who was on probation at the time of the incident, was indicted for second-degree assault, third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, and fourth-degree harassment while on probation.
Bridget L. Young
Bridget Young, 25, of Wildwood, was indicted for unlawful possession of a weapon, third degree, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, second degree.  The weapon was a Pietro Beretta 6mm BB gun.  The indictment stated her purpose was “to use it unlawfully against another.”
Young was indicted in May for two counts of resisting arrest.
Jason Kohler, Shawn West, Gina Lehner, Denise Johnson
A July motor vehicle theft in Lower Township resulted in indictments this week against Jason Kohler, 26, Shawn West, 24, both of Rio Grande, along with Denise Johnson and Gina Lehner, 19, of Court House. The four were indicted for first-degree robbery, second-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, and third-degree theft. The vehicle in question was a Honda registered in Louisiana.
The neglect/abuse of Johnson’s “minor grandchild” during the incident added a count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child for Johnson.
Jennifer Sanzick
Jennifer Sanzick, 34, of Bristol, Pa., was indicted on three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, second degree, as well as second-degree eluding police. Sanzick allegedly ignored police when signaled to bring her vehicle to a complete stop and attempted to flee in the vehicle. The indictment states that she ignored the risk of death or serious injury to the occupants of the car and others.
The presence of three minor children, ages 10, 8, and 7, led to the endangerment counts.
Joseph C. Vanlear and Eric Grines-McClain
In two separate indictments, Joseph Vanlear and Eric Grines-McClain allegedly failed to show for proceedings against them on cases that could carry incarceration. Vanlear faced a “certain person” charge for carrying a weapon that was prohibited based on his earlier felony conviction. Grines-McClain failed to show for a case where he was accused of bail jumping along with willful non-support.
Kenneth Gunter
Kenneth Gunter, 35, of Ocean City, was indicted for burglary, third degree, and criminal mischief, fourth degree, for allegedly breaking into a Marmora pharmacy and actions that resulted in greater than $500 worth of damage to property.
Charles Lauber
Charles Lauber, 44, is lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center for allegedly causing serious bodily injury to a female victim. He was indicted for second-degree aggravated assault.
Gabriel Acevedo-Curbelo, David M. Cox, Jacob Herrman, Joshua Smith, Leslie Stevenson, and Brittany Unruh
In six separate indictments Gabriel Acevedo-Curbelo, 28, of Middle Township, Jacob Herrman, Joshua Smith, 35, of North Cape May, David Cox, 48, of North Cape May, Leslie Stevenson, 30, of Upper Darby, Pa., and Brittany Unruh, 24, of Rio Grande were all indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS.
The above individuals are only charged with the offenses and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
