COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 17 indictments Aug. 2. The abbreviation CDS is used for controlled dangerous substance.
Christian Ramos, Jorge Aviles-Morales, Michael Morales-Pons, Kenneth Lopez-Atiles, Xavier Alicea-Goicochea
On May 19, Wildwood Police arrested Christian Ramos, 21, Jorge Aviles-Morales, 27, Michael Morales-Pons, 24, Kenneth Lopez-Atiles, 24, and Xavier Alicea-Goicochea, 20, for aggravated assault on three individuals.
The five were indicted this week for second-degree aggravated assault and second-degree conspiracy, along with a third-degree count for riot. The charge of riot is applicable when four or more individuals engage in fighting or creating a dangerous situation.
The indictment also carried a third-degree count for possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and fourth-degree for possession of an unlawful weapon. The weapons mentioned in the indictment included a pool stick, a cue ball, and a beer bottle.
Ryan Leahy, Jonathan Thorn, John Wilson
John Wilson, 20, of Brooklawn, Pa., was indicted for second-degree robbery related to an incident in May in Wildwood. Ryan Leahy, 18, of Woolwich, and Jonathan Thorn, 19, of Logan Township, were indicted along with Wilson on second-degree conspiracy counts.
All three also face charges of illegal possession of 30 tablets of a prescription legend drug, Seroquel XR fourth degree, and hindering apprehension, third degree.
Thorn has an added count in the indictment for unlawful possession of a weapon, a knife, fourth degree. Leahy has an additional count for third-degree use of a simulated document.
Shadera Gibbs
State Police arrested Shadera Gibbs, 20, of Woodbine after she allegedly took a credit card belonging to a relative and used it unlawfully to charge $1,100 worth of merchandise at multiple stores.
Gibbs was indicted for unlawful theft of a credit card, fourth-degree, fraudulent use of a credit card, two counts, both third degree, and third-degree theft.
Richard P. Farrant
The grand jury indictment alleges that Richard P. Farrant accepted money for contract work and dealt “with said money as his own,” never fulfilling the legal obligation. It also says he assumed a “false indent” for that purpose. The incident occurred in Stone Harbor.
Farrant was indicted for theft by failure to make required disposition and impersonation, each third-degree counts.
Eric J. Stratten
Eric Stratten, of Upper Township, was indicted for theft, third degree, and uttering a false Instrument, fourth degree. Stratten allegedly stole a check belonging to a local business and attempted to cash a $20,936.97 check at an area bank.
Michael Lemay
Michael Lemay, 25, was indicted on two counts of invasion of privacy, each third degree, along with a fourth-degree count of criminal sexual contact. The incident occurred in North Wildwood in November 2015.
The indictment alleges that Lemay observed another individual under “circumstance in which a reasonable person would not expect to be observed.” It also states that Lemay took photographs without the knowledge or consent of the individual.
Brian Kurtz, Michael Miller
Brian Kurtz, 41, of Cold Spring, and Michael Miller, 35, of Rio Grande, were indicted for possession of a CDS. Miller also had an additional count to the indictment alleging that he distributed cocaine.
Kevin Bramble
Kevin Bramble, 43, of Court House, allegedly drove in Wildwood when his license had already been suspended for driving while intoxicated. He was indicted for the fourth-degree offense of operating a motor vehicle during the second suspension.
Joshua Mabry
Joshua Mabry, 22, of Court House, was arrested by the newly reestablished Street Crime Unit in Middle Township. His arrest was the culmination of a three-month investigation into drug dealing. Mabry was indicted for third-degree distribution of a CDS.
Benito Martinez
Benito Martinez, 37, of Millville, was indicted on three counts of possession of a CDS and one count of possession with intent to distribute. All counts were third degree.
Albert McCarraher
Albert McCarraher, 39, of Wildwood Crest, was indicted for possession of a CDS, possession with intent to distribute, and possession with intent within 1,000 feet of a school, each third degree.
A press release from the County Prosecutor’s Office stated that McCarraher was suspected of cutting heroin with the strong synthetic drug Fentanyl.
The above individuals are only charged with the offenses and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
